Hi guys, Juz wanadering n need some feedback on more xperienced Vara riders... Quoted 9.8K for a FS plater Vara COE till 2019... worth it? since its a carb model, what should i look out for? Still considering..... Thanx guys...

86> thats high price man... look around the forum, you can bag nicer deals.

Carb model usual prob will be fuel pump. Other than that , no major issues. usual servicing around 50-60 ( depends on seasonal lobang- I last serviced at HL during the buy 1 get 1 free Engine oil promo) 2 sparks plugs. 100k Km major servicing is around 1.5k there abt, after which good for another 10yrs.

 

oh major problem for this bike is tends to wide throttle too much to enjoy the torque , hence risking licence lost. haha

Izzit from motor shop, I heard the price they quote now was very high maybe due to increase of Coe n the demand of 2nd bike. For that kind of price u can consider my bike with full accessories. Let me know if u r Intetested . Pls refer to my earlier post for more details.

Almost 2 years on.. the verdict is here.. but not without animosity from the victims family on the judgement passed.. Simply unacceptable... cuz he didnt even bother to apologise to any of the victim's family members since the event.. Simply inhumane..

you may ask for loan at bike shop..maybe 20%-30% less than the bike price..

I read the article and have mixed feelings.

 

I have a good friend whose father was a school bus driver. He was driving along this road when this person suddenly dashed across the road without checking the traffic. He had no time to react and hit the jaywalker, and the latter died subsequently. My friend's father was charged in court and other than a hefty fine (cant remember if it included any imprisonment), he lost his licence and banned for life. That was in the late 1990s. Being a bus driver was his livelihood, and he couldnt support his family after that. Had to work for relatives who took him in out of sympathy. My friend therefore had to borrow money from ard to meet the fine, all legal fees, and later work oddjobs during his NS, and then uni to help with family expenses.

 

I asked myself then, was it really his father's fault that resulted in the death of the jaywalker? That's why sometimes I find that the statue at the Court is quite ironic... the lady with the weighing scale. She is blindfolded, supposedly to be fair... but could she have also been blind to the actual situation when passing the sentences? That's why when I see some sentences that have been given out, I really wonder if it was a fair one.

No amount of penalty given in this world is sufficent or even fair for the loss of life. He has been charged and dealt with in this world. Yes a jail term 9mth is short but then again even if he jail for life... or banned for life driving.. Would it solved anything? Will it bring back the dead? Would it be a great triumph? Let us be the bigger person and forgive.

 

Let him serve the punishment he did in this living world. He still would be dealt when his time is up and meet his maker. We as a fellow muslim must accept it with great faith and leave the rest to almighty one who is also the more knowledgeable and the creator.

 

I am glad there is a closure for your family. And i do hope we all can move on with our lives. You are going to be a daddy soon so focus on that orite? so focus on that.
