cert in wsh means u hv the basic knowledge of wsh.it doesnt mean ur a qualified wsh personnel.u gotta actually work in the wsh industry to gain experience.moreover, its mandatory by law that all supervisors/management staff hv a BCSS or equivalent.

bro, would you be able to give a description of yr daily job? are there more paperwork / planning involved or field work. i am curious what AHSEO do on their daily work. thks

Normally, im is assigned to one vessel..being a project or repair vessel...these vessels went into dock to do repairs/ maintenance/ modifications of equipment n such within thier vessels so I are to ensure that all those works complies with rules n regulations of the yard and the WSH directive...Im also a Hot work assessor meaning dat any hot wrks on my vessels are to be thoroughly inspected and inspected by trade foremens, me and approved by the PJMs before its being carried out..

 

During VSCC meetings, i also acted as the secretary to capture all the minutes of the meetings...not onli dat bro, dere also other various roles that Im supposed to undertake apart from the normal daily routines...hehhe..type here also cannot finish...cheers..

Whats wrong with the safety industry and the companies?

 

I was reading posts that some companies only hire a person and then dont care but the person must know what to do. also some posts asking for after ns get $7k then $10k. wow. What happened to a "noble profession"

 

I have been away too long and come back to see that instead of progressing upwards, we all (ministry included) have slid down.

 

How is this specialist diploma and this advance certificate? Is it teaching and equiping people with more knowledge and skills?

 

hi bro, perhaps you need to trace back and read about the $7K PAY AFTER NS. It actually states about progressing upwards to that pay structure. thank you:)

U must be ready to accept Low salary if got company accept u without experience.. If they pay u SGD2K for starting. They might as well send a workers go BCSS and upgrade him to SS. the range for u are like 1.3 to 1.5k starting.
