DirtWheel is the official distributorship of KTM bikes.

Machine price is S$10,500.

Do factor in the admin fee, your insurance, road tax, etc and basically, you're looking at a range of S$12,000+ (if you're having 50% NCD or are older of age) to S$13,000+ to even S$14,000+ (if low NCD or young in age).

Thanks for the info! A bit too steep for me, haha. Maybe next time when they start popping up in the Used section :)

Consider the Pulsar 200NS if Duke price too steep. I think on the road 1/2 price compare to Duke200. Super value. Both made from the same manufacturer (Bajaj) in India.

It's a different bike.

One is a Bike.

The other is a Lifestyle.

No offence to present Duke bikers. Just hope our fellow bikers to make the wise choice of purchase.

Duke 200:- Machine price $10,500/- + $735/- (7%GST) = $11,235/-

Pulsar200NS:- Machine price $4,800/- + $336/-(7%GST) = $5,136/-

I certainly will be able to improve my lifestyle with saving of more then $6,000/-. Anyway depend of what lifestyle you want. If you think riding the Duke200 is a lifestyle I am LOL.

Cheers! :p

The cash difference is only one factor.

The other being that they are different bikes with different specs.

This is precisely the reason why people choose to buy a Maserati with a Ferrari engine or a Ferrari. To some people, they only want a Ferrari, to others a Maserati is good enough.

A test sample was done before whereby the same oranges were placed in two piles. One was priced at $2 for 5 and another pile was sold at $0.60 each.

Although they were all picked from the same orchard, consumers who bought the $0.60 oranges felt that it tasted good and looked bigger than the oranges from the other pile.

Food for thought.

Take a look at the Pulsar200NS before deciding "its just a bike" Duke200 nothing that special. Just a motard.

Duke200 is same like the $0.60 orange. Just an overpriced bike.

With all due respect, please do not come into a thread and blast the bike...

it only comes to show how shallow a character the person has...

each bike has its pros and cons...

price is only 1 factor...

depends on what you are looking for and using the bike for then you go for the bike...

each bike serves a different purpose and targets at different groups of people...

they are 2 DIFFERENT bikes altogether...

don't get me wrong that i am just purely defending the dukes...

i ride a pulsar and i am just stating the facts...

my 2 cents worth...

To each his own. Grab what you like and can afford. No ending to such comparison.

There's always the "value-for-money" crowd and the "money-for-value". For me, since I have no choice but to be limited to 2B, this Duke 200 seems like the best choice at this stage in terms of performance and finish. Can't wait to test ride this in person...

anyone here rides the 990r? can you give a review on how practical/reliable the bike is?

oops.... sorry, did not notice this post.....

sorry, late follow up...

i bought the 2008 990r second hand in Nov 2011

so far, so good; light and flickable; average tank range is 250km for 15litres b4 reserve starts...

funny thing is, if ride like i stole it, engine heats up... if cruise, temp is manageable

exhaust is stock; stock flyscreen changed for a taller piece.

2012 990r are double seater; and latest i heard is no more 990r after 2013.

hope this info helps.

Thinking of getting it... Im a new rider.. Is it best recommended to get it from dirt wheel?

Do you know of other dealers who carry it brand new? Always good to look for a comparison
