manual: more fun cos riding isnt about just twist and go throttling. can and need to play around with the gears. also in a way, it trains you in a way i suppose.

auto: it is better in a safety way? cos since you wont need to think about changing gear, you can focus on the other stuff like braking and other road users. though to me, it felt weird cos there isnt a biting point to look for. some people who uses auto transmission might have issues when they go back to the driving centers and are trying to upgrade from 2B to 2A or 2A to 2. lol

2b auto, example runner, pick up.. like both said.. jus concentrate on braking.. CG is kinda of hi, unless u are pro in cornering else don go too down.. easy to travel thru jam cos twist and go..

2a manual, pick up lose to 2b auto unless u wack to red zone... quite stable, cornering can go lower cos CG is lower.. fun to play wif gear.. but doesnt apply for jam or peak hr, ur left will cramp cos every now and then half clutch then clutch in.. this also depends on hw much to squeeze in between lanes, then more u cut the lesser time u hold ur clutch...

seriously i onli ride like one wk of runner and i wanted to change bike liao, cos really toooooo boring.. but the shop owner told me to at least ride a yr else i really lugi... ite i ride till now, but i also buy 1 2a manual in between on and off

I've been riding auto for 7 years before changing to manual.

Either way is fine. Both have their pro and cons.

Auto sccot is really twist and go. No need to worry any other thing. Just like what other bro her have mentioned. U just concentrate on riding and road condition.

Cornering is no big deal for manual and auto, all can do it.

In a way, whatever the manual bike can do, the auto also can. just need to use different technic.

Myth of auto scoot having no engine brake. Half true. Autoscoot also have engine brake. But it's just like manual bike at max gear closing throttle plus a tiny bit more.

SO the nice part bout the autoscoot is, absolute zero hassle for day to day transport. CAn even "race" if you want.

The bad part of autoscoot. Heavy FC. Runner 200 is getting aprox 24km/l at stock settings (same as supper4)

Whereby a 200 4 stroke scram and other manual bike of similar cc can get at least 32. normal at 38 and some can hit 40/42km/L

Autoscoot have higher maintenance. The transmission componets (belts, clips and roller ) need to change every 12K. variator and drive plate

maybe every 30 or when they wear down

Manual bike chain and sprocket set is almost the same price as the rollers, belt and clips. But if properly maintained, they can last 30k.

This is one consideration you should take note.

Other than that, both is fine.

Another bro have mentioned that ride auto for too long, u will have problem with manual when u are going to take class 2A or class 2.

This is very true. I have been riding autoscoot for 7 years. When come back to manual. I took 3 months to ride a manual bike normaly. keep making mistake just like the noob riders. Wrong gear. gear misque and etc.

Just go for what you like. either side is nice actually.

I don't mind going back to autoscoot if they have the burgman 200.

u sure 2a manual lose to 2b gilera? i wanna see a runner outaccelerate a ktm4 or pgm4... anyway i dun feel tired riding a manual bike unless im stuck @ customs. and i feel dat manual bike is so much fun coz it allows more control ova da power. But auto is good for pure transportation and not to get ur feet wet..

ktm4 or pgm cannot compare ah haha cos those 2 can beat a super 4 anytime. but a super 4 can lose to a 2b gilera unless you maintain midrange or above when you start off. though i cant be bothered :p

i think at the end of the day, let it be manual or auto, riding principles remains the same. its only a matter of preference of wanting more control or less hassle. just keep in mind about the brakes/clutch when you switch in between auto/manual :) also i think auto bikes compared to similar manual bikes are slightly more pricier due to transmission :)

Been riding a runner for 1yr+, was helload of fun to me =) auto is really damn convenient and safer in a way i think lol.. But i still prefer a manual bike though~

I think its about the rider for manual or auto, when I went for my 2a it took me a while to get used to it but after each lesson going back to my runner it feels weird haha!

MANUAL MANUAL MANUAL.

depends on the purpose and rider actually.

for me, a bike is all about enjoying it to the max. so i want a very deep level of engagement with the bike. manual allows me to control the bike precisely in the way i want it. the time to shift the bike, how fast to shift it, biting point etc. all of it goes into being "one" with the bike. trains you to be better at control as well since you need to bring into account the rpm and gear at different speed.

for people who want convenience and easy riding, auto will be fine. just twist and go, so easy. no need to worry about over or undergearing, stalling etc.

that being said, some auto bikes can be more fun than manual bikes. had an opportunity on a Gilera ST200 before, wah, pickup is good man. realy easy to cruise with.

When I compare manual or auto cars, I would definitely pick an auto car over all the trouble.

Bikes however, feel so much natural being in manual transmission. I doubt I'll ever get an automatic bike since a manual bike really isn't that much of a hassle at all honestly. In fact if I were to ride an auto bike, I would probably feel weird not doing anything like changing gears or clutching in.
