Don't think SG will get the gold-rimmed one as those are the US models. The Euros come with some gunmetal rims.

is it the engine super noisy?

is it the valve knocking and pinging loudly?

 

is it true that yamaha engines last only 20,000km and then need to re allign the shim and valve clearance due to the valve clearance becomes loose and a loud noise "takking"

 

if this is true...yame engine surely sucks

peaky refers to the nature of the engine which is an inline 4. it's power comes in high revs and falls at a certain rpm. who told you that yamaha engines do not last and all that "takking" stuff? i can safely say that the person has no idea what he's talking about or he's trying to pull a fast one on you.

 

the condition of an engine is mostly determined by the maintenace done by the owner. if you skip on regular preventive maintenance such as simple oil replacement, you're in for an unhealthy engine, it's that simple.

one boss in kaki bukit shop told me

 

waa....if yamaha u go malaysia and tarik full speed....u will face valve clearance problem....then a loud sound comes in and need to use gauge to align the shim under bucket.

due to there is no lubricant touches valves

unless petrol

 

so how to take care of valves?

did u see the valve clearance in your manual stating 40,000km must send for realigning.
