If this bike do hit our shores, i might be seriously thinking about grabbing one...:cheeky:

Seriously speaking the VTX1300 (I think its the S version) sitting in Looi's showroom is really tempting, but its a 2003 model & its purple :faint: Makes no sense buying a "new" bike in 2007, but its a 4-year old model.

I have enquired at Boon Siew before, seems that they might be bringing in a couple of units of VTX1800F, but the same old excuse of no market for the 1300s

You can try the big bore boulevard 1800 that looi's is keen in bringing in. Or the Vulcan series from kawa. Not much new honda big bores around though.... last that I know is the VTX1300 at loois... last piece.

Evershine not bringing in the VN900s leh.... I have read so many articles singing the praises of this middleweight... would really love to get one to 'test'...

Oh wow, Loois is bringing in the 1800cc ones? Hmm i thought they decided to stop bringing the big bore ones, due to lack of market? Hmmm....

The 1800cc would be very tempting as well.......:cheeky: :lovestruck:

not Looi's, Boon Siew... I dropped by a couple of weeks ago, & the salesman said they are expecting a couple of VTX1800F's.

With Singapore being such a small market especially for cruiser being dominated by Harley Davidson, it is not difficult for one to figure out the reason why the dealers is reluctant to bring in Class 2 cruiser but, I anticipate a new wave booming cruiser owners and we may soon see varieties brands that is if the dealers have the same anticipation as mine.

Hi Kiamh, I would be going down to Evershine this week for some matters thus, would enquire with Mr. Ang again for your interest in the VN900. High chances they would not bring in this model but, no harm querying again.

Cheers.

Lets hope the bikeshops have the same anticipation as you and bring in more big cruisers to steal the pie from HD hahaha....

That’s what I said when I was at Hong Leong one year back but sad to say, I was told people are just too brand conscious when come to cruiser. Perhaps it’s the American heritage that derives people from something so anonymous.

So kiamh, you be going for brand new HD or 2nd hand ones? Sportster? or Softtail hehe......

Can't afford a new HD... (just bought a flat leh...)

Going for a used Sportster (post 2004 model) or maybe an older Softail if it matches my budget.

Gonna save up for a bit first, coz I would like to pay cash for the bike if possible. Else the interest accrued is really 'bo hua'

Of course, if Evershine willing to bring in the VN900, then its a different story liao :p

hmmm.. if there are more buyers gng up to Hong Leong to ask for midnite warrior at the same time.. they willing to bring it in???

I think it depends, if let say there are 10 person willing to put down $$$ to order the warrior, i think they might just bring it in, but then again the reason they game for not bringing in was against LTA regulation, so we are not sure whether if its true, it could really be LTA not allowing them to bring in....

I think yes also. Using LTA is just an excuse. These bikes are roadworthy in Europe & US, so why not Singapore.

IF I'm a motordiam boss & a group of 4~5buyers walk in with ready cash to place downpayment on a Midnight Warrior. I'll sign them all up & find ways and means to get the bike in. Since there is no market price to compare & this is a 'special order'. I can basically charge a healthy premium (profit!) above the reasonable market price & the prospetive buyers would likely be willing to pay for it...

Well, not if you have to consider stocking up parts and accessories for a minority numbers of the same model purchased. Mechanics would also need to acquire related skill to repair and maintenance. Coming to charging a healthy premium, how many potential customers would be expected to generate a healthy sale then?

As mentioned before, Singapore is a small island and when it comes to cruiser, majority goes for the heritage rather than some Japanese cult cruiser. Probably influence thru movies, shows etc, their heart still rule over their head. Of course, I am not trying to imply it is a mistake to get the heritage but to open their view for more options out there in the market, many times, I have seen once too many people getting the heritage and only to switch to another soon there after. My point is, gets something you like and not thru hearsay, only to regret it later and this applies to all makes.

With such condition, no doubt there is little our underdog dealer could do much but, I am seeing Mah, Evershine and Boon Siew putting up a good fight though.
