No license yet can buy bike?

Hi Guys,

 

I had no license yet can I buy a bike under my name without riding it?

And insurance issue too.

No license can buy bike but cannot register the bike if it's a new bike, so no number plate.

Layup the bike, no need insurance/road tax yet. once you pass then apply for it.

get a subrider who got lic, go bike shop together. you are the owner but on the insurance cert will put your name as not riding. when you pass, get your insurance done (you top up) and then ride away.

 

you will be the registered owner of the bike, according to LTA's records too

 

that's what i did. for a new bike.

Buy used bike need to change ownership with LTA. How?

license only for use of the road. if you not ride on the road(classified as road by police, not you) then you no need any license.

No insurance also can, as long as you can pay everthing, when things happen, but in Sg to registor a vehicle, must come with insurance, but this got nothing to do with license.

 

So without license..can buy a bike. Just like cars, rich man no license always buy car that come with Driver.....

But I think SG not fun to do this, run awhile kena caught already. USA still can go damn far until police cannot reach. Which I saw in some video motorcycle chases.

I got a used bike 1 month before I got my license. Had it transfer to my name. Got an insurance by declaring that I just pass. LTA will require you to produce d insurance before d transfer can b effected.

 

You have to make sure you don't ride once transfer or u will have to bear d consequences.

 

I did it becos I like d plate number of d bike but I w still advise u get ur license first.

Haha SG no police heli la, heli for wayang if have also.

Not advocating but got people that have done this before, run until TP don't want to chase anymore.Mind you these are old timers riding powerful bikes, filtering through heavy traffic at dangerous speeds, watch Ghostrider on Youtube to have an idea.

Trust me on this, when you saw a good bike, you will see a better one, but when you bought a bike, you may found out someone is selling another better at a cheaper price. Its a never ending hunt.

 

There are bound to have complications if you bought a bike now but cant ride. Take the chance to save up more cash and get a better one when you passed ur TP.

 

My friend did a fantastic stunt, bought a sportsbike earlier than getting his licence. Admire and bike wash often and found that its pointless to behave like this. One fine day cant resist the temptation and broke the law ... Now he has to wait longer to ride a bike...

Just wait it out I guess. U don't know if your going to pass also. And having a bike lay up will just make you itchy itchy heh

how to say this you may say its ridiculous but i feel its true... buying bikes is like choosing a wife... you may think is good but den again no fate means no fate... cant force it.. if you cant get it yet den dun wait for another chance... if the bike is still around when you got ur license den gd for you if not there will be another bike that is truely waiting for you...

find a named rider first (your friend or family), get the insurance under his / her name for the bike you want. Meet the seller at LTA, transfer to your name but named rider is your whoever.

 

and there you have it, you're the bike OWNER with a named rider.

 

Next thing pass your license, add yourself as sub-rider in the insurance or just cancel whoever's name and put yourself in (more expensive though for a P-plate).

 

Tested and proven. Word of warning: don't get caught.

Besides, I will vote into not getting it till you have your license. Period~

 

Besides, it might be that you just have to let go of the bike and get another one. It's all part and parcel man. Get a deal after you pass.. atleast you have more time and room to atleast check out stuff and also officially sit on one to test it out.

Sub-rider and all would only complicate matters.. The nearer you are to the bike, the more you will reason yourself to ride it. Whats the point right?

You wanna buy the bike. But how do you know the bike is good, or if it suits you, if you cannot test ride it.

And you cannot test ride it because you have no license yet.
