Can we legally up the exhaust note?

the other day with kid in car, i accidentally crank the car with engine running. Doing this too often will spoil the starter motor. I sometimes cant really hear the engine, will it help if igo some exhaust mod shops to mod my silencer to have a louder exhaust note so that i can hear my engine?

u can get lta approved exhaust .. but really, is that necessary? not cheap u know, and will draw quite a bit of attention, in addition to being alot louder in ur daily drive. most other car owners i know want a quieter car, not a louder one.

 

just remember to look down at ur dash la. if u just want to avoid starting while it's started, buy those ah beng multi-colour meters. if the engine is on (or at least electricals), it will be super duper bright, definitely bright enough to remind u it's started.

good advance, to add u may tap tap on the accelerator pedal .

Its just an excuse for you to get a noisier pipe right? I got so used to driving a 9 year old Estima, which was very quiet and i couldn't hear any soudnds outside and when changed to some 5 year old stream, can hear every single noise on the road and the engine. No point ah drive car with noisy exhaust. You want so much noise to see whether engine is on, you might as well drive convertible. Or ride motorbike. I have driven quite a few cars before, but i have never driven one where you cannot feel or hear the engine running.

true, i should look at the rpm. because i got so used to riding a bike, and my previous ride was a conti van, not as quiet as this one.

I just want something that is throaty and sounds like my last car, a G35 coupe, but I know it will never since we are missing 2 cylinders and we have a turbo. Overall I also don't want anything that drones inside of the car and do whatever to squeeze the most Hp & tq possible. That's my overall goal. Hopefully they do before and after dyno's and sound clips. I kinda like what Ark performance do, they use a decimal reading before and after with there exhaust.
