Hope I am not intruding- here are some pictures of cameron i took from a recent trip - the christmas weekend last year, when there was crazy rain all over..

http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/8357/sweeperha4.jpg

The sweeping bends going down from brinchang via the new road that leads to Ipoh/ Simpang Pulai. Lovely road, which became really interesting when on the other side, maniacal local riders on the litrebikes were pushing 100+ km/h up these same road.

http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/7646/trafficjamxk1.jpg

Traffic jam at the sungei palas Boh tea plantation. One narrow single lane road, people going to and from the visitor's centre...

http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/233/strawberryud6.jpg

Strawberry farms all over the place. Not as sweet as I imagined it to be though.

http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/5897/pahangperakborderzk7.jpg

The Pahang- Perak border that is on top of Gunung Brinchang, which at 6666 ft is the highest motorable road in P. Malaysia.

http://img174.imageshack.us/img174/8844/crackedroadle3.jpg

The road on the way up to Gunung Brinchang. Plantation road, not well maintained, cracked all over. A bit scary at parts, going up maybe 30 deg elevations, sometimes wet and slippery, sandy mostly, and to top it off, 4x4s coming down the same road round blind corners!

mike1024... exactly... the elevation is quite steep... i gave up midway. a waste really but is a good judgement i guess. i could've been in trouble if i proceeded further. envy those who reached the top. feels like must revisit again to conquer the peak hahaha...

btw nice photo res... good camera!

forgot to add... the berries aint sweet either but it tastes different @ altitude and when u bring it down to sea level. really.

heh. I think my picture resolution a bit too big...

I think you can see from the pic that we were riding on a S4 Bol'dor, some parts really scary when the road was overpacked with mud, and though I was trying to slow down, I also realized that braking on mud means only one thing - skid! So, fortunately, did not fall down.

But it's not as if the whole road was this bad.

Did not try the difference in sweetness between the altitudes though.

I think the best part for us was when we descended through the new road towards Ipoh. So much better than the road up from Tanah Rata.

okay, some more photographs...

This is a shot of the road up for people who are interesting in going by this road (through Tanah Rata). Very blind corners. Hopefully, you dun get trapped behind a huge truck... Bad thing is that the overhanging branches are really low. Then, when the trucks break the branches, they will fall, onto you if you are wayy too close, or just in front of your path. So best thing is to be careful, patient, and wait for parts of the road where it branches out to 3 lanes for you to overtake.

A shot of the hillside on the way down. Beautiful scenery, bright blue skies, bad thing was that we eventually could not escape the Johor showers that week.
