Tested the bike recently, very nimble and has a very nice riding posture.. Typical Aprilia.. Sadly its abit underpower.. But the looks definitely make up for the losses.. Hopefully an aftermarket pipe and big bore kit would arrive in our waters soon.. Would be a nice side bike.. Hehe..! Plus, the meter looks awesome.. Wonder if can install it on RS125 or RS250..?

i like the design of the RS4 125, but i was sceptical about it being said to be a "DERBI GPR 125" with new clothes smacked on.... did a lil research and its true... same built with minor tuning differentials.. i ridden a friend's R125.. and all i can say is.. its a little bit more than what a honda wave can pull.. overall the RS4 125 isnt a good investment in Singapore for 2B brothers =)..

u mean the meter install on the RS125 / 250? i think not, big bore will definitely be a go go for the RS4 125, but ... if the price is too much to pay for.. then again a little 125 costing more than 10 grand.... i guess peeps will much prefer the little GP replica RS125

i got my new aprillia rs4 125 on the 22nd march 2012 at aprillia showroom at zervex...thanks to lino for the brief introduction of the bike..

currently still in the running in stage,riding at 80km\h-90km\h....

 

well at the first look,many people will mistake this bike for a class 2a bike or class 2 bike,and this bike is a head turner..people will either will juz look at u and ur bike,wheather they are driving,riding or walking..that is wad i experience while riding this bike.

 

to me this bike has things like i need like

1)large fuel tank

2)low fuel consumption

3)look

 

y speed is not under my list?cuz to me is simple,in singapore where u wanna speed?camera everywhere,after crossing 1 traffic light,as u pick speed,another traffic light will appear..the other thing is that,i treasure my licence,my body and my live..bike fall off and all damage can be repaired as long as u have the money,but if u lose a hand or a finger? u can't get it replace..go LAB also cannot find lolx

 

to my suprise,the patrol consumption during my running in was unbelievable,for 1 full tank,it took me 4 days to enter reserve and when i see my odometer it stated 400km.

Hi guys... Just my review on the RS4.. got mine in January...the first white one...

 

Bike is smooth and fuel consumption is awesome.. i am quite hard on the throttle and i got approximately 350-360km before the reserve light comes on... Power wise; well honestly, u cant expect much from a single cylinder 125cc four stroke. But the DOHC, 6 speed n fuel injection gives it an extra edge over the rest of its 1255cc four stroke counterparts.

 

i didnt manage to hit e top speed, prolly coz of my size n weight.. but a fellow rs4 rider has his top speed recorded on the speedo at 125km/h.. i have to mention that the speedo is abit heavy.. it felt like i was going at 100km/h but when i glanced on my speedo it was only about 87km/h.. so its either other bikes speedo gives inflated reading or the rs4's speedo is heavy.. god knows.. but a recent pacing with an rs125 shows that while the rs4 is going at 110km/h, the rs125's speedo shows 120-130km/h.. just my 2cents..

 

of course you cant compare power with a 2-stroker. they always have more power.. but if you are looking for a bike that looks awesome, fuel efficient and easy to maintain, then the rs4 is perfect..

Oh ya... forgot to mention.. just noticed the reply on the derbi gpr 125.. i made a detailed comparison with a fellow gpr125 rider... Chassis, swingarm, rims, rear hugger are exactly the same.. engine, however, the rs4 is an improved version of the gpr125.. engine is similar.. difference is rs4 has a DOHC and fuel injection.. dat gives a slight more edge n fuel consumption.. rs4 fuel tank is also slightly bigger with 14.5L, 0.5L more than the gpr125. also of course, different cover sets, speedo, n sub-frame..

 

Tried the bike during the Aprilia track day at Johor Circuit in January.. changed my tires into smaller ones by Metzeler.. i had e Mezeler Sportec M3 120/60/17 for the rear.. dun need a bigger one as it will only decrease the power due to its weight.. the bike's handling is awesome... superbly stable negotiating the bends.. only downside is speed..

yeah agree with fazelino on the review as i'm riding one,and mine is in rsv4 colour scheme..i have not tried it on track yet...but today as on this post date,i've finish my running in.be doing the first engine oil change today.(lino nie syaiful lah FBG866H lolx)

 

1) well so far gear shifting it so smooth,throttling to me is superb and smooth as it is connected to fuel injector not carb

2) bike is nimble,conering wise?superb..

 

during riding while on running in,i always tried to keep pace on a malaysia kupchai like spark 135..and to my suprise the bike actually have no problem keepin pace behind them and my speedo show me it is at 80 km/h...

 

the downside of the bike is that

1) speedwise(it okie for me actually lolx) is not for speed demon lolx

2)acessories also(guess it still early and slowly the acessories will come soon.. lolx)..hmm guess tat all for this time tat i can think off for the downside lolx

I guess touring wise is ok with sports style bike, its the hush riding style. If you can take it, you can even ride it up north to hit ipoh

well... for starters, the rs4 shares the same tail tidy n front visor with the rsv4.. basically they have the same head and tail... so aftermarket stuff for rsv4 like the mirrors, visors, headlight protector, tail tidy, one seater, integrated tail light/indicator can be used on the rs4 as well..

 

you can also get some protection accessories by R&G.. stuffs like the tail tidy n sliders.. for R&G parts, u can call Personified Motorsports at 97978686..

 

N to those of u who already own an RS4, my advice is to change the chain.. like the rs125, the rs4's stock chain wears very easily.. u need to tighten the chain every now n then.. also with the stock chain, u'll hear some very minimal grinding noises.. change to an O ring chain n that will give u a smooth ride.. also u might wanna consider changing to a lightly smaller tire.. i'm using a 120/60/17 for my rear.. no point getting a bigger tire as it only decreases yur power... tried e tire on track n even with a 120 tire, its almost impossible to use the whole width of the tire...

 

and to those who wants even better handling (the bike's handling is already superb), u can go for Ohlin rear shocks.. a Kawasaki Ninja 250 Ohlin will fit perfectly on the rs4..

 

Ok sorry... i talk too much... hahahahaha... just my two cents.. hope dis helps... cheers!

i must admit, two strokers are awesome.. u got power, speed, handling.. the rs125 is still more superior than e rs4 125..

 

well, wat to do.. things change n bikes are evolving.. 2 strokes are phasing out mainly due to stricter emissions regulations..

The rs4 125 lacks power, but it has e looks and handling to compensate..

 

Sooner or later we will have to embrace the four strokes whether we like it or not..

Lets look on the bright side, my bruddars... we no longer have to worry about 2t and piston seizures and excessive smoke that may lead to a fine from the NEA..

 

The rs4 is still your best bet against its other 125cc fourstroke counterparts..

 

Again, just my two cents.

We are all anticipating a 250cc four stroke from aprilia.. The moto3 previously was the 125cc two stroke n aprilia came up with the replica for road use.. now moto3 has changed to a 250cc four stroke, we hope that aprilia would do the same as it did to the 125cc two stroke..

havent heard of any news with regards to bringing the sxv450 in sg. to bring a 'never before on the sg road' bike in singapore requires a tedious process.. we need to undergo homologation to get it legal on sg roads.. so if ur talking about ordering just one sxv450, den it wont be possible..
