btw i am not an engineer from K&N but u claim that pipecross is better then k&n of course i would like to know how too. but you also mention about "airflow was much better than K&N.. to a certain extend, air flows in too much.. thus making pickup a little retarded.." to be frank... it is because the flow is not good thus cause the pickup to be retarded...

 

imagine, u let out gas (a******) but u put a mesh at it which will still let out smoother but now u put a foam... haha i think it cannot let out lar. that why retarded... i think this is the most lame comparision i can think of.

quizesilver: no hard feelings.. I just say how i experience thru my K&N and pipercross filter..

 

what i wanna correct is that you say that K&N is made of sponge which it's actually made of paper..

 

then again, why pickup retarded is because too much air flows into the carb thus making is less responsive during pickup..

 

let's say you wanna blow air thru a piece of sponge and a few layers of paper, which one will have more air reaching the other side..

 

 

my previous post was just my experience thru using both K&N and pipercross filter, not targeting you or anything offensive.. if i've offend you in anyway..

they got the airfilter and cleaning kit..

 

better than K&N.. 2 different layer of foam to trap oil and let the air flow through..

 

i guess you are lookin for super 4 filters right? i went down yesterday, still see got stock over there.

foam filters is superior compared to cotton filters like BMC, K&N etc... then follow by paper filter... of cos, every brand will say their's is the best in the market. only when u use it, then u'll know which is better...

 

i read an article somewhere, it states that no matter wat filter u use, with that air box of S4, there ain't that much diff. unless we can make an open pod for the air intake, then its better. that is something to do with air volume. then with that, its best to get an easily maintained filter n foam filter is recommanded follow by cotton n paper...

Anyone mod their air box ? I read up oversea forum, most of them would mod their air box. Cut small opening. But most of them done up with full system, jet kits and all..and they find Mod-ing air box helps with aftermarket air-filter.
