I just got my license last month? Currently no bike but working part time as despatch using company bike which is honda wave. Only two weeks. Intend to buy a second hand four stroke bike but what can i get with four thousand? Second hand plus insurance. I guess it's hard but any opinions?

As long as it's not ugly can already.

Speed doesn't really matter.

Fuel if can save also good.

What can i get with four thousand?

since you have 4k, 2nd hand bikes, 4 stroke. i believe you're a teenager like me :) we go for stylish bikes and at the same time its economical bike. heres the list of some 4 stroke bikes that might interest you.

- honda wave 125

- yamaha spark 135

- yamaha X1R

- yamaha x1

i myself am riding spark 135 :) fuel saving, bike. basically a transport to school, work and hangouts. no worries for fuel as $10/-, you can get full tank that can last for a week +/- (depends). i can get spare parts/accessories at almost most of the bike shops in singapore. spark 135, speed wise, standard can go up to 140km/h. quite fast though :) just don't do any severe modifications as its a waste of money. go for the outlook though of your liking, like example, decals, stickers & airbrush and also maybe a change of rims. thats all for my bike :)

hope ive helped you just by a bit :)

If you like cubs that is. Phantom TA200 is also a very good choice for low budget beginners.

1. High fuel economy, Phantom riders have reported FC in excess of 40km/l

2. Good upright posture, especially for those who wishes to grip tank with their knees

3. High availability for parts and good reliable shops can be found

4. Good torque for class 2B and cruising speed can hit above 120km/h for well tuned phantoms

5. Storage capacity. Phantom TA200 is one of the few bikes available which is able to install both side and rear boxes while still looking good.

For those who rants that Phantoms are "uncle" bikes, think again.

Here's a phantom of mine.

My best suggestion is, you take down th bike models that interests you, check it out at bike shops, compare prices..just dont rush, or you'll regret..take your time to source things out..and you neeD to wait till the COE price drops, thn thats the best time to grab a bike :) *forumers any idea when is the coe dropping?

latest coe is 1.9k. PQP should be around 2.2k?

going for 2nd hand need take note COE?

yes..

exmaple one,

i bought a car for 65K with coe, 1 dollar..

now coe 55k..

i sold my car at 100k..

thats what my father did..

example two,

i bought a car for 65k with coe, 50k..

now coe 10k..

if car remaining 5 years means if i scrap the car i got 25k to take back..

i can still sell my car for 25K plus after taking 65k and minus the depreciation rate..

so the rise of coe plays a factor too..

in example one, the seller win..the buyer or the car can also win but he has to keep the car for the next few years till coe gone..

you roughly get the point??

it took me a week to understand what my father means..

If ur open to scramblers, xr125, xr200, dr200 are good bikes with good fuel consumption. Someone is selling an xr200 for 2.2 k at slackriders.com. My suggestion whether u buy online or from a shop is to bring someone along who has experience so u won't get chopped.
