In terms of comfort and grip strength, what are the best throttle grips around?

There have been alot of talk about Rizoma and BMW grips, although many have said Rizoma is overrated.

Any other grips worthy of an honourable mention?

No idea about other grips, but +1 to BMW. First thing I do to my bikes when I got em.

Ever ridden hour plus in the rain through massive traffic jam and no discomfort. Excellent grip in the wet and drains water well.

Not the prettiest, but hard to beat for comfort and function. Might be a little too squishy for some.

Hmmm, I've been contemplating on BMW grips when one of my research into grips yielded this Spider grips. Soft and tacky, they are a good option for those who wished to have comfort while still able to maintain a good grip on their handlebars.

They got several options for MX riders too!

In Singapore, BikeTech21 is the distributor for these grips. Comes in different colors

They are located at 45 Dunlop Street.

I bought mine, Spider Slim Line SLR grips, blue color for $29 per pair at BikeTech21.

Hmm, Rizoma's doesn't provide any sort of comfort from vibs. I'm kinda thinking that the metallic design of the grips do enhance vibes too. Guess its just bling, brand and expensive.

IMHO, the best grips are the stock grips.

never changed mine before..

the last 2 things that i will change on any of my bikes, grips and signal lights.. stock and good!

Stock is good...Choose your weapon wisely and enjoy it...you can have all the $$$$ to mod and in the end you can't make full use of it....

Depends on personal preference.

Soft grips =

+ precise throttle

+ less tiring to hold

+ absorbs some vibration

- some say 'icky' feeling because its soft

- feels... rubbery :p

- Kupchai grips always leave nice patterns on my palms!

"Hard" grips (such as a lot of Rizomas and other custom 'chopper' type grips)

+ transmits nice feeling of bike and road to the rider

+ kind of makes you respect the machine, since it's metal you're holding (some like this)

+ attracts attention (chrome grips)

+ omgbbq cnc machined grips r awesome (rizoma)

- penalty to ergonomics. Some are difficult to hold for long periods of time. Affects handling if on the road for say, more than 2 hours

- transmits more (too much) vibration to the rider

- some non-branded decorative grips can start to slip off the throttle rocker over time

- overpriced/overhyped

- theft magnet

Pick whichever, but stock is awesome too :D Unless changing the whole handlebar + grips + balancers I leave the thing stock.

I have Rizoma on my ah pek rat bike because it's expensive :p no other reason. Handles great though, so no complaints!

They don't last long though. Only 3 years and my stock grips have worn to the point that they can slip in my palms when I twist the throttle. Also, they're being twisted on the handlebars as I hang on to the grips.

No more $24 :( . Just got mine last week at PML Alexandra for $29.XX (after GST).

Printed on the sticker "Made In Germany". Overall good soft rubber, no sticky feeling with bare hand. :thumb:
