Leaking ECU.

Hi guys, I would like to check if it's worth to buy a cbr400 with leaking electronic computer unit (ECU). How much will it cost to repair? Is it a major safety concern when there a lot gum-like stuff stuck on it. Thanks

cannot repair one, have to buy a new unit for around 400.

 

but normally the gum is not an issue, i've seen bikes run for years with the gum dripping and no problem at all.

 

Basically what the gum does, is protect the electrical board from water. normally mech will advice to wrap the CDI up with plastic so it wont drip all over and water cannot enter... OR buy new one haha

Cbr400 got ecu? R u sure its nt he rectifier? Rectifier can find online n replace for much cheaper.

IMO, not worth to get a CBR4 period.
