depending on the bike u are installing on , for my VFR ...the rise wasn't very high but still acceptable ...it was due to the upper wind shield ...on non fairing bikes i dont think there would be any problems

Hi enhanzed. So you got your set installed on the VFR. I thought that your bike would have a more uncomfortable position. VFR's riding position should be rather nice I think.

Please share/tell us how is it after fixing the convertibars. How do you like it now?

Also, did you buy any of the other stuff like longer clutch lines, brake lines, throttle cables to give you the rise? Did you order from convertibars themselves or bought through a shop locally?

Thanks!

i was too used to riding upright , so the VFR's slightly sporty position din really suit me , and i have short hands and legs ...

after fixing , its slightly better but still room for improvement

no i din get longer lines as VFR has combined brakes hence will be very costly ....ordered from convertibars directly

I have the same problem being a shorty. Same problem as yourself being too used to riding a standard bike. Regarding the "completion kit" I am also wondering if I should get them as the fairing looks like it would get in the way somewhat. I'm not too keen on trimming it. However any amt of rise and pull back would help in alleviating the back ache. You know, make it a more livable bike for day to day use.

After I've imported one, will there be mechanics that knows to install this?

I'm sure its not a direct bolt on. Saw that I may need a longer clutch and brake lines

Great write up!

But is it suppose to go higher? As from the pic position, a helibar would be sufficient.

Hi Azmil, yes it can go higher but the limiting factor is the fairing of the GSXR1000 K1. Helibars would probably have worked but I could not find it for my bike. There is also another brand called LSL that made higher handlebars but decided to opt for the convertibars in the end. It does give lots of possibility for minor adjustments but a pain to get there.

During the installation I met another hayabusa rider that also had raised handlebars. It was quite interesting. His bike had a riser block sitting on top of the top clamp and the original handles on top of that. You might want to consider that option.

Ive already have that but still want it even higher.

I google convertibars and found out the i need to position the bars behind so that i does not hit the fairing to get that raise position but it looked odd and ugly.

My other option is to custom a handlebar itself.

I guess i juz have to live with 1 inch raise for now

I think these bikes are designed with a higher degree of sportiness in them. Also, consider the handling and the feel of the bike when using another handlebar position. When I was still adjusting the convertibars, there was a rather relaxed riding position (for a sportsbike anyway) that I quite liked. However, once I had to corner, the bike felt weird. I realised that the design of the bike also limits how high or how back we can set the handles before the weird feeling comes.

True enough.

That's y i feel that for my case a add on helibars or custom bars should do the trick a lil.

For yours, well a job well done. . . .
