I assume that the bike is still under hire purchase with a shop. The only possible way for you to be placed under the legal custodian for the bike will be to engage the help of the bike shop that the bike is under hire purchase from. They should be able to help you with the transfer of the name. Of course, there will be some fees that you need to pay. These fees can range from couple of hundreds to four digit figures, depending on the policies of the shop.

Crap.. U have to refinance or get ur own loan in order to do transfer of ownership..

I hope that you didn't mean what I said was crap. If indeed that was the what you meant, you probably need to have some respect for other people.

Anyway, there are shops which do not require refinancing, but some admin fees for the changing of hirer.

No you didn't. And I believe I did not accuse you upright. The word IF is there, in case you didn't see it. Don't have to get too defensive IF you didn't mean it that way

But after e word IF, wat u wrote irks me aite... Ur talking bout respect n now u telling me i dun have to get too defensive... Where's ur apology to admit ur mistake for ur wrongfully misperception bout wat i've said ? Since u know how to talk bout respect, i certainly hope u know wat to do since ur in e wrong...

I do not see a need to apologise for something that was not a mistake. In case you didn't quite understand the meaning of "IF", it means "granting or supposing that; on condition that".

So now tell me, when I had dictated the condition of the statement, how was I wrong? You could have jolly well ignored that statement in the first place and we will not be in this flame war right now.

Its a shame for someone who knows so much bout e meaning of English but do not know how to practise it in reality... Sad but true n its damn fugly...

Ego. Some people just want to be right.

Anyway, I believed I read a comment "Shut up and ride" somewhere?

Why don't put that ego down and stop arguing. Its just a simple word "if" right? What difference does it make to apologize and move on?

Apologizing does not mean that one party is wrong and the other is right. It just means that the one who apologize have the strength to put down his/her ego and move on to do things that are deserving of their attention.

Back to topic, my opinion is for you, to get the bike under your name. This will save you from any liabilities that the suppose owner might incurred. It also gives a clean ending to the sale. That the bike belongs to you.

Go down to the shop with the owner of the bike to either do a reloan or to do a full settlement.
