What is the recommended tire pressure for Dunlop D404 170/80-15 Rear TL? For my front I pumped 220 KPa (warm) and it felt right - am trying to figure out the right pressure for the rear (one up, highway riding only)

Thanks in advance

Hi,

I am thinking of getting the XVS1100.

If anyone riding this bike can please tell me:

1) How much are the original Yamaha saddlebags (Large ones if there are) and the sissy bar with tail rack? Any readily available 3rd party like Kuryakin/Cobra? Windshields?

2) The passenger footpeg can change to good footboards like those on harley, not the ones you get from Ah Boy?

3) What's the fuel consumption like and handling on long journeys?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide me. I have checked with Hong Leong on pricing and availability. Just wanted some experienced and advise from you.

Regards,

Fatboy71.

hello people. just some stuffs to ask you guys seasoned Draggies. :)

1) sometimes, during Neutral gear, there would be a rattling sound. it will go away when i clutch in. but sound comes back when clutch released. anyone care to explain?

2) seems like downshifting gears is gettin a lil bit 'hard'. upshifting is fine, but downshift might take a lil bit more effort. help?

Common among Yamahas. Had a fren whose R1 oso got this rattling sound.

The Clutch basket or sometimes ppl call it clutch housing aready worn out.

Me changed it once when me bike was abt 12yrs old. After change very smooth.

Ur difficulty to change to lower gears is oso due to this problem.

The clutch basket will set you back roughly $280. Gasket roughly $8 not including labour charge. This is an estimation only.

Or u wan cheaper?

Change it yourself. How?

I can show u but u D.I.Y lah.

Bro, if u wanna change those accessories no problem. But only get from the US websites cos local dun have lah. Unless u custom make with sengkwang.

The ride feel like the dragstar 400 classic model, if ever ride one. Only that the 1100 gives u more Horsepower. FC wise shud be slightly more than the 400 dragstar lah. Bigger cc mah.

Check out this website for some ideas http://www.650ccnd.com

If u ever bought it, pls do a shout out here bro. Enjoyz. :thumb:

If u still hav no idea wat is a clutch basket, take a look at this link.

Loads of information on tech stuffs etc etc

The clutch from the link is similar to dragstar. Read the point #8.

Hey Fatboy71,

I ride a dragstar 1100. The fuel consumtion for cruising at 100-120km is

16km/l but if you go faster it really starts to drink, not sure exacty how much maybe 13km/l. Top speed is 170km/hr. Fuel tank a little small at 14l.

Its a comfortable ride. Cannot compare to the 400, I used to ride a Shadow 400. The power it increadibly nice, as you twist the throtle the bike just flys all the way to 140km with ease.

But without a winshield the wind factor starts to make it uncomfortable. This leads to you next point. 3rd party accessories are difficult to come by here in Singapore. Even Hong Leong doesn't stock anything, have to order. Anyone know where I might be able to get some pipes for the 1100?

Hope this was informative.
