can anyone recommend where to get dragstar accessories? eg. crashbar, spotlight, panister etc?

 

for crashbar, u can get it custom-made at Seng Kwang. for other accessories, well you can try places like Loois, Chong Aik and LAB

hey guys, i hope i can get some advice on this. my bike has difficulty starting in the morning, when the engine is cold.

 

strangely, the problem started after i had the carburetors washed, engine oil changed (to a 10W50 Castrol grade) and spark plugs replaced. before i carried out the maintenance, the bike was in a optimum condition. so it's strange that after the carb wash and stuff, the bike has trouble cranking.

 

could it be:

 

1) battery issues?

2) wrong grade of engine oil?

3) too much engine oil added?

4) carb tuning?

i had similar problems, but according to the mechanic its is because of the way the carbs are situated.

 

when on side stand the bike is slanted and there's more petrol in one reservoir than e other, so it doesnt run properly. even at idle it sounds different when on sidestand and engine tends to die, but once upright it's ok..

 

what cld haf been e case is the original configuration for the carbs was done on sidestand so compensating for the difference in level

hmm i used to think abt that. but i thought its a ridiculous idea. but hmmm. i'd usually start my bike when its on the side stand. ok let me try to put it upright before i crank it

well i thought your modded fender is pretty radical. my fren did a slight modification to his bike and ROV is making so much noise already

 

Well, i can't comment on that. If a TP wants to book you, anything also can book. Changing your signal light is also a mod. Anything not ORIGINAL is a mod in their books. So big mod or small mod also wrong. get my point? hee:cheeky:

 

Let me share with u. Some TP r really A**H**e. More than 10 yrs ago, E worst riding day of my life. 1 same CB face TP booked me twice in 1 day at diff location,1) 7plus am for loud exhaust, 2) 1plus pm bum in to him again for no fender at rear. I explained that i just took over the bike with papers to show. I m not making up this story... so much so that i am scare to c them ard for yrs. So mod is a mod.

Well, i think you might have to get that check coz if you delay it, then it'll spread and then your bike can't even start and you then have to push start it...

Check your rpm idling level. It could have been tuned to lower side. Another, are you using the right spark plug model meant for your Dragstar?

This is my first time here. Planning to get a Dragstar very soon. But do not know whether classic or custom? so far custom has appealed to me. Could anyone advice me on a dragstar custom and is it still in production? Can anyone recommend a place I can find a 2nd hand custom which is not 10yrs old and more.

Welcome to the forum!

 

At the moment, Hong Leong is still bringing in new Dragstar Classic. As for Dragstar Custom, you will have to try your luck with those motorcycle shops out there. Perhaps folks in here can try to contribute any shop they have seen this model on sale.

P.S. Dragstar Custom is still in production in Japan. However, the local distributor has already stopped bringing in this model due to low demand.

Check your rpm idling level. It could have been tuned to lower side. Another, are you using the right spark plug model meant for your Dragstar?

 

hi Nights. thanks for the response. i think most spark plugs can be fitted to dragstar 400 with no problems.

 

anyway, i might get my battery checked and recharged if necessary.

seriously cruisers are less 'notorious' than those high powered sports bikes. we are known as easy riders. cruising at comfortable speed, drying our armpits. so its the sporties that LTA and TP should care about. not the bling bling that we pun on our customs

hi, actually i mean e mufflers plus the pipes coming out from our twins.. if u need the front header from the front twin for ur pipes i'd hope to at least get e one behind too.. lemme try to get a pic to illustrate wad i mean..

reason being if u changing e exhaust system some sets require the original header..
