I bought a Nc700x abs manual and rode the bike to Koh Samui.

This bike really has good handling, it corners well, but is not suitable for touring.

if you want good fuel consumption just ride in singapore. Once you open trottle on NSHW, I think a Hayabusa has better fuel consumption.

My reserve started blinking b4 I reach Pagoh travel at average speed of 150km/h (145 km hit reserve), I was really disappointed.

The top speed I managed with a leo vince pipe was 190km/h butI only managed it once (on a super long stretch of road slightly downslope). I can easily hit 190km/h on a super 4 anytime.

On full ball on normal roads max 170km/h to hit any speed above need to be slightly downslope.

670cc less power than a super four 400cc. really disappointed.

I would rather ride a super four to Thailand than this bike.

But riding just in Singapore, I really enjoy NC700x. good consumption great fun.

but touring on this bike. Never ever again for me.....

When sellin? ^_^

what speed you ride bro?

I reach pagoh on my last trip to Thailand traveling at 150km average (stock exhaust) still have about half tank left, but pull in cos friend R1 need to pump. I later pump at berdus linggi 260km on meter only 11.5 l.

average 23km/l. The whole journey to n back from Thailand cost around ringgit 150 on petrol.pump 92.

When I say I ride average 150km/h I dont mean my top speed 150km/h

I almost either full ball or 3/4 throttle most of the way to maintain either 160 to 170km/h .

but with traffic etc. my avergae is ~150km/h because based on my watch I took ~1h to reach pagoh which is ~150km from GP esso.

before i reach pagoh reserve already blinking.. I was think WTF.... thought this bike is suppose to be beri good fuel consumption.

I think I ride hayabusa before when cruising at 160-180km/h I can even reach seremban. relly disappointed..

no power never mind , but fuel consumption really sucks at any speed above 150km/h .

how to go touring on this bike.

Unless I join groups that travel below 150km/h. but most groups iknow travel at 160-180km/h for touring.

all the way cannot even see the tail light of the last bike.

but the plus side is I really like the tank storage compartment and the handling of this bike.

but I don't think that 1 will ever go touring on this bike again.

this bike (at least the DCT model) is especially tuned for people like me:

wants to ride class 2 bikes

don't tour. sg rider.

commute. (workhorse to and from work)

want good fuel consumption to be an affordable mode of transport

need enough power to get out of sticky situations. dont need racing kinda acceleration, nor touring kinda top end.

difficulty with stiff clutches due to some old injuries.

appreciate the choice of auto or "manual"

wants a bike that simply looks GOOD.

basically, to sum it up, it is the PERFECT bike for my current needs.

coming from fz6, this bike is not as "cool" and "aggressive", but i dont have to force myself to get on it when i go for short trips to buy coffee, unlike the fz6. the fz6 is like taking the ferrari to go to the market which is 5km away from your house. damn sian. the nc7 is like hopping into a toyota wish for the same purpose.

bro, like some others have already commented, this bike might not appeal to all...

each rider have a different expectation and view on the NC...

me for an instance, think the NC suits my need very well...

i use my bike for daily commute and also occasional trip up north...

i travel comfortably at 120-130km/h and seldom pass that unless overtaking...

with this speed, i am getting 300+km each tank and avg FC of 26-30km/l...

to me i think any speed above that all you see will be speckles of light flying pass you...

thats not what i want to see when i go on trips, i will want to see as much scenery and happenings as possible...

that said, some riders have a different view and they are right in their view as well...

its all individual preferences...

just a thought i share from my friend, what is touring to you? travel from SG to another place out of SG on your bike? what type of bike then to you is suitable for touring? then what about the m'sian workers who travel back to their home town on weekends on their kup kais? they travel great distances to be home with their family and then back to JB/SG on Sun to prepare for work the coming week...do they call this touring? no... they will call it commuting...

Just a question for those who are fine with the power dont you feel the flat spot from 100kph to 120kph?

Just time the bike.. from 0 to 100kph it took the bike about 6 seconds, and from 100 to 120 kph, it too about 5-6 seconds.

For me, my complain is the flat spot from 100kph to 120kph.. Some time i am having a hard time over taking cars in expressway.

I am letting go a FZ6 for an NC700X for the exact same reasons.

The FZ6 just begs to be ridden hard and fast.

May be fun at times to hit one traffic light to the next in 3 secs but after awhile you need a more sane bike.

This bike is a light fun touring bike. We have to let go of pickup speed and just cruise along. When on NSH or to anywhere North just stay alert of moving traffic around you. Yes, this bike will make you sleepy and

You will crave for speed if travelling with kakis on higher CCs. You will desperately trying to keep up or

catch up.If your riding tolerance is low n butt still paper thin then plan for more casual pit stops and short distance destinations. Always plan with your travel kakis. You should enjoy riding nonetheless.

Sometimes, people buy motorbikes for the wrong reasons.

Honda must have done something right in the styling if the NC700X gives you the impression that it's a baby-VFR1200 or mini-CrossTourer.

For those who took the time to check out all the online reviews and youtube videos before they bought.

Congratulations! Honda has found you! The pragmatic rider who wants a reliable hassle-free commute without losing that sense of fun in riding.

And for those who bought this bike on an impulse, no need for despair. Someone else would take your bike off your hands pretty soon.

Everyone's a winner in the end.

Goo

Yes this bike's power is not great and that is the main "con" of this bike. Quality may not be that awesome as this bike suppose to only be USD6999.

For those owners who wants more power or need it for touring or wants better quality, sorry to say this is not the bike for you.

Firstly, this is one of the cheapest class2 bike (suppose to be), it wont be fair to compare with to a tiger or crossrunner or a Fz.

Secondly, it has been stressed many times, this bike is not powerful, if u r looking for power this bike is not for u.

Thirdly, this is a commuter bike, not a touring bike, so yeah it's not really suited for touring, just commuting around. If your touring kaki goes above 180 than don't expect the NC to follow his pace.

Lastly, if you have bought a NC "wrongly" I believe it has good resale value and LOTS of people will hunt for it very quickly. Will be sold in less than a week :thumb:

Hi Goomeister, how are you? I thought Mini- CrossTourer should be the CrossRunner with V4 engine? Hahaaa

Wah... After reading all the negative comments about the bike... I think I am the few who is enjoying the bike... Sure, the bike can't do 140... Sure, a super 4 can eat me for lunch and dinner... Sure, the parts are budget and rust easily...

But just ask yourself... Which bike in the market now, can ride comfortably at 105km/hr on expressways and still fetch 30km/L... Almost next to none vibrations on the handle bars... You can hear your gf talking to you while riding... Store a helmet and many other things even without a box... Super low maintainence... Comfortable riding position, seats a bit slippery la... But okay la... Budget front forks and rear suspensions... But they do work well... Single disc brakes... I don't ride fast enough to use 2... Maybe I am the only one who rides the bike at 90-105 on highways and seldom go over the speed limit on normal roads...

"How about the rust?" I hear you say... I managed to clear ALL of them with wd-40... And they stay off... Just put in a little bit of effort and stop blaming the bike when it's your fault for not taking care of it... It's like blaming the fuel consumption when you haven't went to the petrol kiosk...

Regardless, I know that this bike is not for everyone... But it's clearly for a slow rider for me... I still wash it once every 2-3 weeks... Clean the rust... Cover the bike... Smiling every time I go to the petrol station... Please sell the bike if you are not happy with it... Potential buyers of the nc700 should be like me... Love the style... Comfort, practicality and low maintainence... Lastly, seldom speed... No complains from this 'ham-ji' rider like me... :)
