aiyo, u put skillful rider on a 250 also can beat bigger cc anytime. Its not a question of which machine

more powerful or not, its up to individuals needs and wants. If you want power why take s4, get zzr14. Can overtake any moving metal u see. NC is more of a relax and great mileage bike.

Talk of which bike more powerful and faster is so ameteurish...

Its like comparing eating cake and eating steak. 2 different thing altogether. U cant and shouldn't

compare

Not just a matter which bike is faster.

I've took my old Super4 up North before. Freakin' pain in the ass and other places after the long ride.

It seemed to take forever to go up to 160kmh after the 120kmh mark too.

Humji to take it faster than 160kmh. The slightest buffeting from passing vehicles would threatened to throw my Super4 off balance. Maybe the heavier NC700 would do better in this aspect.

Can compare comfort and efficiency also mah.

With both bikes travelling at average 140kmh, I would really like to know who has the better FC in the end.

Goo

When I was younger, going up north with my superbikes several times at speeds considered shameful , I didnt really considered myself going touring because at the end of my destination, I felt what did i achieved? incredible speed yes but did I get to see the beautiful country? did i get many malaysian angry with me for riding so ? its true that i manage to reach my destination in record times and friends and i would compare notes and tease each other but I didnt feel complete.

Then later I got me Honda Shadow 750. I felt the riding was really relaxing. i could go at the speed limit 110 without any problem. true , i reached my destination later but I really enjoyed the highway wind and the scenery. and the situp position of a cruiser didnt aggravate my back problem as much as crouch superbike.

Then I got me a deauville. now this is a bike which can make me smile. it can go faster than my cruiser but it still has that situp position like a cruiser and i reach my destination fresher. and oh somehow i still enjoyed my countryside air and mountain.

Now , I have yet to sit on a NC but it has the Honda Deauville genes.

One thing I dont understand is why do Honda make it as heavy as a deauville whereas NC doesnt have a shaft drive, 2 built-in pannier and fuel tank that is smaller than dv and thus contributing to the weight.

Nowadays, when I drive to Malaysia and see our bikers zooming at great speed, I wonder what do they get?? that exhilaration of speed.? I for one have gotten over that need to get speed.

built quality of bikes have seen a downside in recent years. rust here and there, is it because many parts are made in other countries but the bike is being labeled made in Japan because it attract customers. now i hear that CTX is made in Thailand. wonder what gripes and problems will get if lands on our shore??

Seriously.... instead of yakking our heads off about whether NC700 is faster than Super4....

How difficult would it be to organise a little run up North with these two bikes head to head?

I am pretty sure we NC700 owners have Super4 friends to jio right?

Volunteers with Hero2/3?

You are completely not getting the point... I feel stupid having to reply you, as you just reiterated my point... But Nvm...

Rofl. I'm not talking to you specifically. Why so serious? i'm not arguing with you and we're both happy owners of NC. I'm just saying to all reading that everyone needs and likes different things. I'm not here to start a keyboard war. Just hope we can all enjoy this bike together instead of fighting amongst ourselves and/or competing with different bikes.

Dun forget the intention for the NC700 range by Honda was to meet European A2 licensing requirements (Up to 47bhp restrictions). The BMW G650GS, Moto Guzzi V7 are other non-restricted bikes that meet the requirement also.

People buying NC700 should not see it as a 700cc but more of economical town riding commuter. It was also designed during the economic crisis; Motorcyclist around the world are demanding for fuel efficient motorcycles that's also cheap to buy and own (especially in the non-restricted class; Otherwise they would have bought a 125cc motorcycle / scooter for that purpose).

I personally prefer the NC700S as I can put my feet flat on the ground. A taller windshield and a top box will be good enough for me. Just a pity the DCT model don't make it locally.

DCT/ DSG is a good technology, but it needs good maintenance to last long. It combines the convenience of "Twist-And-Go", yet it should have decent engine brake when dropping gears. I personally ride a Yamaha Majesty 400 scooter, and while it has "Twist-and-Go", it uses a CVT. I do miss the engine brake at times, as my only option for reducing speed is to use the brakes. I do admit, that I'm really lazy to change gear manually, thus since my 2B transport, I told myself for Singapore daily riding, scooter suits my requirements as I also get great underseat storage to store my barang barang.

I do hope Honda will introduce more DCT models in the coming months.

Anyways, the JDM model of the CB500X is the CB400X. Horsepower is still 46bhp from 399cc engine.

http://www.honda.co.jp/400X/spec/

Compared to the CB500X UK Model

http://www.honda.co.uk/motorcycles/adventure/#!/cb500x/specifications/

CB400X produces 37Nm/7500rpm

CB500X produces 43Nm/7000rpm

Other than that, the dimension (Length and width) seems the same as with weight.

Looks like the JDM CB400X is lower; Overall height, seat height and ground clearance as well.

Well its been awhile since I came into this forum page. Lotsa interesting conversation. Haha.

As for me, im a happy 1yr NCX rider. Totally suits my requirements and expectations of this bike after reading international reviews on it. As someone said, its a Class2 kapcai.

Great FC for its engine capacity.

Cool n useful storage.

Enough power n torque for up north rides (for me at least)

Tons of accesories nowadays.

Cheap to buy.

Cheap to mantain.

All I could say is. Know what you're buying. If u Don like it probably u didnt do enough research or u dont know what u want. :)

Anyways prep ur bikes for a late June meetup aite guys! Hehe.
