I heard this program on the BBC World service a few weeks back abt bio fuel.. They were investing heavily on using maize to produce Ethanol.. Which like you said compensate the release of CO2 by the absorption during farming. Also farmers get to rotate crops so the land will get to "rest". But Tortilla flour price has gone up 400% the past mths cos of their friendly neighbor using their staple food to power stuff. Here's an article if to read if anyone is interested. Oh and you can actually used recycled cooking oil to run ur diesel engine, just filter it and u've got fuel!! Saw it on Discovery channel, but dunno will do the engine any harm or not. I hope this topic wun turn into another flaming thread, cos I think it's useful discussion. All of us here loves to ride our bikes and drive our cars, guess we got to open up a little so we can find way to continue doing it even after we ran out of dead dinosaurs.

Haha. saw the show too..

Building damps, very good idea, provide we are willing to scarifies, all wild life and forest along with it... China gave up the rich historical site (with tonnes of artifacts) to the damp to power it's city...

Bio Fuel another good idea... but the Oil producing country will be against it... maybe along the way try to sabo the R&D. hahah! else once viable, they will no longer be able to control people economy. Also politically driven... Singapore Eg. Various car makers do make hybrid car, GOV also promoting them (green and ENV friendly) but the TAX cut like like not even warm, the price still Fhigh. :cheeky:

I do hope the Hydrogen can be produce more eco friendly, and H2 driven engine become economically available. as it produce ZERO CO2!

Ya lar!! That day saw a Toyota hybrid car on the road, forgot the name of that model(very ugly that wan).. So was thinking " That bugger rd tax sure very cheap, if not this guy wun drive such an ugly car wan".. Walk up to it and too my surprise, it's about the same if not the same as normal cars!! But there's not much fuel saving at all if u travel on highways or when u floor the pedal with that car.. Malaysia has got alot of taxis running on LPG, we've got some taxis with CNG as well. Dun think that's a good idea for bikes as I think the tank weighs like a bomb, and it's scary riding with a bomb in front of u.. Haha..
