Good evening all. It might be inappropriate for me to post this here. But I will appreciate if you guys can help me out here. I'm getting an 06 883 low. I went to view the bike. I can say that it looks well mantained and its stock. Here is my doubt. When the mechanic turned the ignition, i notice the red key sign and the yellow engine light light up. A few moments later the key sign switched off but the check light remains on. The speedo doesnt sweep at the startup either. It just flicked a little at the 0km/h mark. And when he crank it up, the check light is still on. I asked him why it's on. He told me that the bike idling was set low to get a good carb sound. And it really idles like a carb but its fuel injected. He said in order for an efi model to idle low, he has to remove a wire from the intake manifold and thats the reason why the check light is on. I tried to throttle and the response was good. The idle is good too. So can anyone justify this. Maybe some of you guys here do the same mod to male the motor idle like a carb? Oh yes. One more thing, when i throttle it, the check light switch off. But when its idling, it turns back on. Thanks in advance fellas.

Just to answer your question, I don't think it's ok. Cos efi is still an efi. It will only hurt e engine more just because u want a carb sound....if u want carb, get a carb engine....efi engine needs to run at higher rpm unless he got a tuner then it's different. But engine check light is not good

Same or lesser....cos I hardly ride....

In general, it's e same things....riding a harley is very different from other bikes...u ride it to be part of e heritage. If u want good maintenance n cheap, then kup chai is e best to go....

Which bikes does not need engine oil ? All bikes the same maintenance procedure .. It all about your spending power. A lot of things for harley,you can DIY. There few good and cheap harley shop servicing the harley bikes.. No worry.
