Hey everyone. I just wanted to enquire. Yesterday night..while I was riding..this taxi driver suddenly jam braked for a customer, causing the car in front of me to jam break as well. I tried my best to brake in time but couldn't and instead, hit the car's bumper and flew of my bike. I had some injuries and noted down the taxi driver's plate number. He drove off with the passenger like nothing happened. What should I do now? Can I claim anything from him? Should I call the taxi company? I have no idea what to do.

if you hit him from the back, you will lose the case, unless you have video evidence that he jammed brake... Otherwise, having a witness might help, but its a long process...

sorry to say that you are at fault in the eye of the law for not keeping safe riding distance. the question is will he claim against you. at most you can make a complain against him with the taxi company which i think is not wise as most likely they will turn around and claim against you. you are at the losing end.

what i suggest is make a police report / report to IDAC and ask your insurance company for advice. at least that give you a fighting chance of not claiming 100% against you. good luck.

Forget the taxi and worry about the car that you hit from behind. Did that driver take down your details? Just be glad that you are ok and take it as a lesson and hope that car doesn't claim against you.
