hey who dont u state out what u have done . and the price u paid. how we know u are telling the truth anot . later we fix liao they ask us pay $500!!

i glady say a piston n rings cost $150rm at jb ahboy and $180 rm at xinghock. the price diff i think is bcoz of piston rings they use.

Hi, the price u quoted haven't add workmanship and gasket? Well, if i tell u how much i paid, it's still not gonna deter whether i'm telling the truth anot ma... right? Also, i think people will ask the price before fixing, and not the other way round...

btw, the price i paid is slightly lower, coz i used to be a regular patron when i was still riding my rvf/929. And i remembered when i was new there, their price to me is already reasonable... oh, and they provide original Honda parts. U can request for aftermarket if you're on the budget line, no problem.

No la, i just for the good sake, share/intro to people who have problems with their SP and don't want to go JB, can go and check out if the price is ok. Want or don't want, its still their choice la... Whats the forum for if i keep quiet right?

You can choose to keep your benefit of doubt, but end of the day, just another new place for fellow bikers to explore prices and services~

Cheers~

I just tested this morning. $5 of petrol only can last for ard 35km for me. That is pretty high fuel consumption right ? If i go down to shop what must i tell the mechanic to change/do ??

i had the same problem with u, but not as bad, full tank was 140km max.

I went to re-do settings at JB, they did something to the magnetic coil and jet tunings, and now my FC is 200km max.

Do a full service also.

jerkybeef: i had the exact problem as you did when I first got my bike. maybe you can ask the bike shop to check the fuel jetting or fuel pin or something liddat. its actually just a small mechanism which is quite easy to change. when the bike shop took out mine that time it was a 1.6. super4 only uses a 1.35 so it was the cause of my extreme Fuel consumption (140km max per full tank). SP if i am not wrong is 1.2 at stock. so maybe its because of that. as your bike is still under warranty dun pay a cent for any changes.

if your bike vibrates alot until you rev till 7k rpm then will become smooth, high chance is the fuel jet problem already. but remember that after he change the fuel jet he must do some tuning.

my bike shop that time also told me could be the socket wrong size but dunnoe how true that is.

and last thing to check that i know about is the exhaust. check with another bike shop if it is original pipe and exhaust. usually the original exhaust pipe will have some words engraved on it and dun have any wielding marks on it. usually a cut exhaust will decrease your FC by 15-30km every full tank.

good luck with the FC man!

Might you know why a cut exhaust will decrease fuel consumption?? as i just got my bike i dunno much abt it..

well then just do those things such as fuel jet change and "magnetic coil" though i honestly dunnoe what that is too. haha.

from what i know, but dun take my word for it, cut exhausts allows more air to be expelled. this in turn helps the engine to "make more power". from what i have noticed, more power usually means more FC. lol. maybe the others can tell you more accurately why a cut exhaust increases FC.

however what i can tell you about overly big fuel jets is that it feeds more petrol into your engine than is needed. which means petrol is wasted and causes incomplete combustion.

hmm.. i roughly get wat u mean. So when i go down to the shop, shld i tell the mechanic to change the fuel jet or shld i tell them my fuel consumption is exceptionally high ?

haha just try to quote some stuff we told you earlier then he will know you actually know some stuff. sometimes bike shops tend to shrug you off cause they wun earn anything from you as your bike is warranty.

go there tell them you bike consumption is screwed up. then ask them to check fuel jet, air filter (to see if dirty) and see if spark plugs need to be changed. also check the exhaust to see if it is a original one or a modified one.

don't think so much already. just go to bike shop and tell them to do something about it cause they gave you this problem. the earlier you go to them the better cause once your warranty runs out you have to start paying! lol
