But are they comfortable? Seat is so thin and mounting and dismounting is a pain. Naked bikes give the best compromise between the comfort of a scooter and the power of a motard. :)

 

yep. 2 weeks back I saw a drz up close. The seat too narrow for me. But I think Honda typically being more conservative for their production bikes should have a more butt friendly seat.

I'm very afraid of KTM bikes. I bought a KTM 200 during my 2b days and it never fail to give me problems. But maybe now technology changes, so might be a better bike than 10 years ago.

 

Race bikes can't be used like road bikes.

And had seen one of the India motor news that the Duke 390 had overheating issue. Anyone have any idea of this? Thanks!

I will rather wait for Baja to eventually launch the NS 375. Most likely with reduced compression. No exotic materials with corresponding price drop. Yea during my 2B, 2A days, stories I hear of KTM is like standard ang mo bikes. 1st 3 -5 yrs, no issue depending on ur mileage. After that $$$. I just bought local mag. Indicates compession of 12.9 : 1. Wont be surprised if it indeed had overheat issues.

yes, some news in India for first batch of owners to receive duke390 (and i think less than half of pre-orders are fulfilled at this time even as the duke390 finally begins to trickle into India), apparently their individual shop quietly ask these owners bring back the bike to shop for "free performance upgrades" (KTM's words allegedly), and then the fan and something else was actually replaced. the owners have deduce that in actuality it was a recall for overheating issues.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

but wonder how much they will sell in SG, csd that 200 is like 13K OTR. Ya man, in India, dusty roads, with heavy traffic......

Just saw the pop up Advertisement. 11.9k machine price. That means OTR 14-15k depending on insurance ?

then maybe 100 for IU unit and watever misc = 14k

then GST 7% = 14.98k

and after this you plus your insurance

 

looks like it arrived after all, but i wonder if the fan has been replaced like the ones in India.

like that for me shoud be 15.5 all in already. Steep man. Almost same league as DRZ 400.

Hope that the Bajaj version w lower spec will b within 12k all in. Considering that between the NS200 & duke 200 is 4k diff.

Imo might as well get the DRZ, at least the build quality is there.

The KTM 390 intrigues me. The price difference bet the 200 and 390 make the 390 seems value for money. Is ABS part of the bike as I don't see it in the specs on the bike on dirtwheels website? Also, what's ur thoughts on the maintenance of the bike?

Question is, did u see the Duke 125, 200 or 390...lolz........

 

Duke 390 should be a quieter beast....unless u release the beast above 5000rpm..which means 0-100 in 5.8secs :D

The one I saw was the 390 because the 390 was just launched and I was looking out for it on the road. Haha. That time I was riding my drz. Ya poor people supermoto. Both of us were at the lights. His engine sound really overwhelmed mine. I think partly due to his stock exhaust. If got the sound of aftermarket exhaust it would sound nicer.

The only thing about supermoto is the 0-100. From 100-160: nil. Hehehe.

The only thing about supermoto is the 0-100. From 100-160: nil. Hehehe.

 

Hmmmm.....the sound as I understand it....is like a lawnmower at idle. It is suppose to be able to pull till approx. 150......before it struggles...but a small bike like this...will not be stable at tat speed....and in S'pore......probably get u 12points with a big fine :D.

Ya the sound of the exhaust is like lawnmower. But if u listen carefully from the engine side the noise is quite noticeable. The only thing more noisy is ducatis dry clutch I think. Lol.

Having said that, I think it will be a helluva fun bike to ride. How I know? Cos 4 months into riding a class 2 bike I'm still missing my 2 years with my drz with which I parted ways...

U're right on both counts.....cross wind issue and a fun bike. It's not every one cup of tea....but can I say it......it appeals to the darker side of ourselves :D.
