Hi all, will most prolly be able to get my 2A license within a few months as I can finally remove my p plate in 2 days.

So..... with that in mind and the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and KTM Duke 390 coming out next year, which of these 2 do you guys feel is a better buy?

haha finding myself in ur same shoes... but been neglecting my 2a test... duke has a claimed 44bhp power rating compared to ninjas 39bhp. duke single while ninja parallel twin... weight wise almost the same at 135 and 139kg i think... feature wise duke nt out yet but confirmed to share same chasis as the 200 and single disc front brake to minimise weight. ninja has the slipper clutch, eco riding function and integrated signals. agents are bringing in the abs only model so it'll be stock for sg riders...

both have upright sitting posture although ninjas will definitely be lower... have to wait and see the dukes performance once its out and compare.. maintnence wise single easier as only one eo bottle and spark plug to chg while ninja needs 2....

haha yes Ninja 300 is coming soon. Duke 390 is last confirmed for June 2013.

I'm more for Ninja 300 as I want something with a fairing now.... but I do like the riding posture of the duke....

last quoted. Ninja for me is $15k otr prolly about $1k higher than the duke.

might not be so sure on the DRZ part. KTM has produced some of the finest bikes out there. specs are out for the duke 390 but has yet to be released so will have to wait and see how well it does. bhp-wise its on par with s4. top-end wise, no point since we are where we are and we dont need anymore speeding idiots to knock down anymore pedestrians.

I guess its not a wise choice.. If you buy the ninja you would be wishing you had more power when you're riding with other 2A sportsbike. RVF, CBR400, PGM4 and would be always consoling yourself that power is not everything when riding with class 2 bikes. Its for learners in other countries, they trade it in once they passed their full license. But here I highly doubt its resale value.

Its not a bad bike la. I think its a very fun bike to ride.. But our 3 tier licensing make it a quite a pointless sports bike. Anyway, thats if your comparing. If you really like the looks and fun of it. You just ride and keep the bike. No need to compare le.. Applies to any bike.

very true... but would really like to know how the slipper clutch performs in sg conditions... and still looking forward to the duke 390. heard the fairing version gonna look like rc8... might not be as powerful as the bikes from the 90s, but still gonna attract a new generation of riders
