Is it possible for Town Council to bully residents?

Hi,

 

 

(ROOT OF THE PROBLEM) (Current problem)

Repeated cases of vandalism happening at Upper Boon Keng Road Blk 5 MCP is occurring at an alarming rate. Earliest date as much as 1 year ago Last spotted vandalism was on 4th Jan 2013. ( Apart from Vandal pushing the whole row of bikes down, there were two separate occasions whereby two different bikes exploded on two different dates)

 

 

(Actions taken by desperate victims)

victims were forced to look for alternate parking. Because of vehicles being vandalized repeatedly.

There are occasions whereby we see our bikes lying on the floor after a night of parking in the car park, but we do not even have time to call the police because we have to rush to work.

 

 

(Town Council’s dispute with victims)

And now the Town Council is not very please with the fact that the victims are looking for alternate parking. And they are intending to take legal action against the victims of the repeated cases of vandalism.

 

The reason why they are doing so is because the town council do NOT recognize the fact that the vehicles in the car park were vandalized repeatedly.

 

 

In addition town council has clearly stated that victims of the repeated vandalism case are refusing to park properly because we are just plain lazy. I feel that town council should provide us with a solution instead of taking legal actions against us.

 

 

What do you guys think???

I have seen the MP many many many times.

 

MP has appealed for me many many many times.

 

But town council refuse to provide us with a solution.

 

The only action they will be taking is to send the victims to court, and fine us for not parking in that DANGEROUS car park.

I go to my MP, he told me he appealed but he got rejected.

 

I send appeal to other MP, they tell me to go back to my own MP.

 

I go police station they tell me, there is nothing they can do. In fact we should play a part in helping them to make the car park a safer place.

What is between me and Town Council i should settle it myself.

 

i try to explain to town council, they tell me pay up or they will take legal action against me.

 

BTW its not just me, but a whole group of bikers were affected

Town Council says at the end of the day the decision lies with them.

 

What i perceive from this, it seems like they are telling me.

 

"EH it doesnt matter which MP you turn to, or how long you drag this case for, at the end of the day its either you pay up or go to court"

 

And true enough they have already sent my biker neighbor to court. He not only have to incur the cost of repairing his bike after REPEATED vandalism done, he still have to pay $600++ worth of fines to the Town council.

They did not say it is our fault, they said they have informed the policeman about this. And with that assurance we should already be parking back at the lots and not anywhere else. I think it is time to post on STOMP. And contacting the reporters. This important issue must be BROUGHT OUT TO THE LIGHT. We pay tax to keep our country safe, for them to do their job to serve us. We get bullied and fined when we are under harm. Even when the vandals have not been caught.

 

Today the MRT broke down again. This is the treatment we are getting despite paying more more more and more. I truly feel for you and your fellow neighbors. If you all do a petition I will be the first to sign. You all can take turns to call the town council and police every day and night that you all have seen suspicious characters. Let them step up their patrol and do more work.

Upz this thread to help our fellow bikers! Remember the art student? My grandfather road... That vandal so fast caught and prosecuted. But yet so much more harmless. This one already costs so much yet NOTHING EFFECTIVE HAVE BEEN DONE!

Should just cage it! Ownself hammer iron pickets into the ground and put chain wire fence then park the bikes inside and padlock. See how the vandal push the bike inside the fence.

 

If not everyday and every night set fire to the car park in the empty lots, make the police and fire engine come twice everyday. See they scared or not. Want to step up the patrol or not. If not, do like that for a month, the vandal see police come everyday also scared.

Yes. How is this not bullying? When they do not even give exceptions and sympathy to the poor victims of their failure to maintain security??? For the 7th time somemore!?

U know why? Carpark under hdb and ura... Park void deck under town council... They don't communicate to each other... Hopefully, someone goes to court and inform the judge of the vandalism cases and let the court know that it's not always we bikers can't afford to pay the season parking.... It's because we are trying to protect our transport because the damn town council/hdb/ura/police are not doing anything at all...
