Well, in my case, the two asholes who pushed my bike over, got caught on camera but didn't get jailed or caned or fined... So what law is this?

Michael Fay was caned. That stupid swiss who spraypainted mrt trains was also jailed and caned. one was private property (cars), the other was public property (mrt trains). neither was made to pay for the damages, be it the private cars or the public train.

in your case, my only guess is the police and/or court decided it was a 'minor act of mischief' akin to deliberately pushing over a dustbin, and thus only gave the culprit a warning. i'm not a legal expert so i cant explain it, i wont bother defending such a light punishment, and i definitely agree it sucks.

but my earlier posts was about the culprits being made to compensate for the damage caused through their vandalism. and my point is the law in any modern country wont have such a punishment, and it is applied equally to private property and public property, as seen with the Michael Fay and the swiss national.

It's true: it's more fun to ride a slow bike fast than to ride a fast bike slow. Admittedly, though... It is MOST fun to ride a fast bike fast!

So I guess I can break off cars side view mirrors and get away with a warning too... Since some drivers aren't using them at all... And my bike repairs cost about $1k while the side view mirror is about a few hundred? $1k damages get away with a warning, few hundred dollars in damages I think won't even get a warning la like that... Hmm... Looks like I've got an idea here...

Hey bro @raverus . Good to hear that you have liaised with the press about this issue. The funny thing is that I frequent this carpark alot, only cause my gf stays at Blk 5A. I have seen the notices that all you affected bikers have collectively put up on the walls of this carpark. It sucks that there are still such idiots in the world out there who want to cause pain and anger to others. I really hope the Town Council and your MP gets a wake up call and install CCTV at this carpark. Do keep us updated with the latest developments ya!
