Im riding Vtec 1. I just topped up my petrol at JB (V-Power) on Tuesday den today, Thursday, only left 3 bars only le on the fuel meter..

How come eat fuel so much ah??

My rpm needle is showing at 1. Does that have anything to do with it? Or Vtec eat fuel one??

thanks

did u open ur vtec every now and then? calculate ur FC by using total distance travelled since last pump with total amount of petrol pumped.... shd giv u ard 22km/L if u seldom open vtec

What's your milage since you pump petrol on Tuesday? If you want more accurate reading, check your fuel gauge when you bike is on stationary and upright position. Leave the bike to idle for a few seconds and that's you actual number of 'bars' left..

but how to know if i on my vtec or not??

and if on or off, does it make a difference?

1) u didnt state hw far u have travelled. maybe u travel 500km ady, and ur fuel gauge still got 3bars. POWER!

2) from my POV, V-Power are used up faster than other petrol.

3) look at ur tacho. can see where the markings start to have smaller intervals? shd be ard 6750rpm. thats when the VTEC kick in.

4) when VTEC kicks in, the sound is different. and supposedly feel more "powerful".

5) VTEC makes a difference. high FC when VTEC is always open.

Reading the thread as recommended by "duckit" may help but please try not to let your petrol level drop below "reserve" so often. It is bad for your bike.

How you throttle is also an important factor in FC. Pick up slowly from stand-still and you will save petrol & your tires won't wear off so fast as well.:thumb:

Is it becoz u pump at Shell... which require u to put ur bike to side stand? Then the tank not staright hence cannot hold much fuel? Tat why onli 250km...

Try going to other station and get a FULL pump.. by shaking ur tank while u pumping...

1st i wanna ask is wat is ur riding style. do u tends to drag gear to gear? or open vtec often? crusing at v.high speeds?

next is since u change ur air filter, air filter shd b clean. how about oil? is it due for change? how long since the spark plugs were changed? how long since the carbs was serviced?

additional things u wanna check is ur tyre pressure, is it enough? ur chain n sprocket is it worn out?

Your milage is the best...!!! How did you do it???

Hmmm... may I know what's your method of calculating your milage??? When the bars starts moving (reserve) or by calculating how much you pumped petrol???

Posted

Dear all,

25km/L is the best i got so far, normal riding, minimal Vtec, though very tempting. haha.

I realise V power is good. betta mileage.

Bro megayon,

This is how I calculate. The first time I pump full till the brim den I note down the mileage. The second time I pump, I calculate by dividing the total mileage travelled with the total qty pumped.

This is my way of calculation. Think it should be correct.
