hi guys, does worn out sprocket and drive chain greatly affect FC? My FC is quite bad, and i highly suspect my chain and sprocket is causing the problems.

recently i went to a motorshop, and asked the mech help check if chain need to tighten. without answering, he proceeded to tighten it. After i rode off, there's a kind of grinding sound with grinding sensation for certain segments of my chain when bike is moving (even if just pushing bike with engine off). it goes grrroookkkkk.........grrroookkkkk

Immediately went back to the damn mech to tell about this problem. he didnt even bother to test ride, and went ahead to loosen the chain again. Damn thing is, the grinding sensation is still there! I think i will end up changing the whole chain + sprocket because of this mech...

Yes..as there is drag and friction and effective "drive power" is affected. The mech should be able to tell you wheather your sprocket and chain is about out of commission. The sound you experiencing is that of misalignment or too tight or your chain link segment has too much play liao..dry chain can also make noise.

Need help can pm me.:sian:

I have a question, Does the trip meter reset to 0km after reaching 1000km? I switched on my bike and my trip 2 meter which was recently 980+ km became 1.5km. hhahaha. I don't monitor it except for my current trips in between re-fuelling.

get rid of the full system and use stock endcan. do check ur carb jetting, it could be a bigger ones.. anyway, im using LV endcan and almost reaching to 22km/l.. so considered urs ok..

Im loving every moment with my LV.

Hmm, i've realised my fuel gauge is faulty; or its having mood swings.

When the bar starts flashing, i usually end up with 230km, assuming its already on reserve. And when i monitor the amiunt of fuel i pump in (to the max), it shows 10+ litres. That would leave me with 4+ more litres of fuel that i've not used up. this translates to an FC of 21-23km/l with opening of VTEC, yoshi end can, and the expressway sprints.

Now, assuming i continue my usual riding habits i should be able to get 340-345km on a full tank before my reserve kicks in; but i've always had this phobia of running out of fuel (happened to me one time on my pulsar 180 when i was testing its maximum range.... 660KM ++ heheh).

Oh well. Just some thought sharing system.

Riding VTEC 1 and can only reach 260km. Fuelbar indicator started to blink from right to left. My Previous VerS can reach 350km w/o switching to reserve. Is it the VTEC thingy?

it depends on how hard you ride it.. i could get about 350km before hitting the reserve.

Rat bike - A motorcycle not necessarily kept in pristine condition, often painted matt black. Minimal maintenance and mismatched parts often used.

Just top up petrol and I will try to maintain RPM at 5000 to 6000 this time to observed.:sian: Hopefully can exceed 300km...

After reading so many bros here can minimum go at least 300km before hitting reserve. Felt really miserable that my bike can only go 267 this round despite i maintain below 6000 rpm.

Petrol Use : SPC 95

Air Filter : K&N(change)

Distance : 267km

Top Up petrol : 14 litres

Tire air pressure : 230F / 260R

Is there something wrong with my bike? Is the reserve indicator blink from right to left then go to 1 bar? or it will keep dancing all the way?

I top up using "98" now to monitor the distance again.

Well technically you got one more litre before reserve officially kicks in. According to your information you're getting 19km/l. My FC is about the same as yours (spec II with yoshi, revtec, grounding etc) and i've given up monitoring my FC so religiously, i just enjoy the ride.

IMHO, petrol for bikes are already cheap on a monthly basis so no point counting so much dollars and cents. Just enjoy your machine dude

well said man. gotta learn from you, give up monitoring

1 to 2km/L difference is enough to make me miserable too. i installed revtec, KnN, carb tuning, new EO, sparkplug, end up FC still same.

somehow last time when i was riding phantom, my FC only 32km/L, and I was happy with it, despite others saying theirs can hit 37km/L to 40km/L. it is after riding S4 that i become so conscious of my FC o_O

Hello, i just bought a Spec2 last week.

Today just pumped my 2nd tank of fuel. I'm so sad to see that my FC is about 18km/l.... or 250km hit reserve..

My ex Vtec1 can go to 290-300km before hitting reserve.. so sad sia..

Will do a top service by this weekend and monitor again..
