Planning for North Ride after boarder open in 2021? (If... open in 2021)

So we have been stuck in SG for months. Have anyone think or planned where to ride north after boarder open?
Let's share your plan, where and why you choose that place, how many days will the trip be?

@Pisces44 JPO 🤩 nice place to shop & dine, big carpark under the sun with security patroling around so bring a bike cover and bike lock.

Distance is around 40km, 45mins ride. Stop by GP to refill thereafter is a striaght forward route. Good idea & exprience for a first ride up north. 👍

Personally in my mind were Melacca or Penang and next into Thailand.

Still drafting... 😅

i think anywhere in that country, it'd be best to park with a lock. too many cases of bikes being stolen even if guarded carparks.

It's safe in general, but no one know. As long as heading north, just bring one. Of course you can choose not to bring 😊

1) park your bike in the open with high traffic

2) cover your bike with cover if possible

3) put multiple locks (handlebar, disc brake lock, chain lock, etc)

4) do some research (here in SBF) to see where are the thieves hotspot and avoid those areas at all cost. they target singapore plate bikers

I guess in general, when we go for rides in malaysia thailand etc

we usually park our bikes at a secure parking area within a hotel. (we try our best to check with them if the car parks are secure or if there are any security guards deployed at the area)

only ride the bikes out if we are sure we can keep an eye on them. leave motorcycles in the hotel if we were to head to shopping malls etc.

can only try to be safe. 🤭

There are many type of lock available.

If your bike comes with handle lock and or main stand lock. You can look at disc brake lock which are common, small and portable. Do use a reminder band to attach from the lock to your throttle grip to remind yourself your disc brake lock is on. Unlock before you ride off to prevent damage to your fork or caliper. Others like lever lock also can, just slightly bigger. All this to prevent bike being push away. Some bike cover comes with end rings and can be secure with small pad lock. @DRZ_b0i & @TRI333PLE have also advised so security is your basic responsibility in order to enjoy yourself there.
