I keep on tailgating the front person.. Cos the person too slow already.. How to reach gear 5 like that?!?!

Also, right hand issue was fixed after a little while of getting used to the rules. I could never depend on my left leg to support the bike! Also fixed that cos the bike was super low! Then some parts I keep holding the clutch cos bike going to die. Most of the time it's cos I hold on to the controls BUT never depress them. Still cannot :/

@Geralddine You are not the only one, I only know what's biting point at prac 3, from slope. I don't even know how I pass my prac 1 and prac 2...

@Scandiacus And again, you are not the only one, but this one worse, until TP, even until I pass my TP, I still don't know what is the correct way to challenge the crank course properly. I just pray that during TP or prac 8 won't screw up... But normally I just free wheel until my bike go out. lol.

@PBbombomlee You mean you put your fingers on the levers ah, they will ask you to make up your mind one. (In a non-polite manner)

@neowenbin : Ahh.. how do you freewheel through crank? Think I need to go back for circuit revision soon, lost touch with figure of 8 already, my greatest fear :S e-brake also another one, ate alot of my points.. Haha I have that feeling sometimes too, passing without knowing how *crylaugh*

@PBbombomlee : I see.. never keep safe distance, must be patient and slow down ma! Last time I stayed 2-3 cars length away becos I scared I cant stop in time :cheeky: . Anyway first lesson can go gear 5 very good already, my batch tt time is so slow, lesson stopped before we even get to go out.. How far away is your next prac 1?

Free wheeling through crank course is allowed? And is the cdc website down for everyone?

I think it's allowed. I used to freewheel after the first corner in the crank course. But of course, will affect your timing cos you're not gaining speed. Try not to freewheel though, cos if your speed isn't enough, you will throttle and you will lose balance.

@neowenbin, yeah rest my fingers on the levers just in case anything happen. Having no mirrors on the bikes for prac 1 also quite leceh since I have a habit of checking them when turning. But of course I understand why. The instructor told me to get my hands off the lever... So weird!

@Geralddine, quite difficult to ride too slowly at 5th gear also. Tried my best to keep my distance.. All I could manage was 1 car length haha.

The instructor asked if I got experience and which gear I can go until, I told him any gear you want me to go hahaha! Yeah I could imagine. Out of I think 7 of us in prac 1, got 3 retaking, 2 with experience and 2 without. They spent almost the entire lesson on the bang tire part...

20th! Should have booked 2 lessons had I known how tough it was.

I think it's not tough for an experienced rider after the first prac. Especially those prac with timing, if you can do means can pass alr. But play safe ah, book one more just in case screw up. Make sure you have ample time to cancel the next booking if you pass.

Whatever you do don't get caught lor. We've all cleared crank course in neutral gear as well. If you have enough momentum you will be able to clear it. If your free wheeling through crank course means clutching in then I think you will get points for that because they can see your fingers on the clutch.

you are supposed to negotiate crank course in second gear. if you get through it in any other gear or neutral or clutched in (free wheeling) you will not get IF but points depending on which offence you committed.

remember also, if you stop for traffic at the exit of crank but your rear wheel is still behind the line your timing will not stop and you will get points for slow timing.

going in fifth gear is not compulsory in lesson 1! you are supposed to adjust your speed based on road conditions, it is not a must to go up to gear 5. you can stay in a lower gear to slow down until you have more space in front of you then throttle up and speed up.

Not much chance to speed up in CDC. The learner drivers always drive damn slow and block the way.

Never let someone else's irrational fears hold you back.

@ber lesson 1 go up to 5th gear to practice down shifting and engine braking

@PBbombomlee : how about keeping a distance from the start (~gear 3)? haha can tell instructors you toured Laos before also :p

20th.. Ok la one more week like that only haha. I second neowenbin to play safe and book more. Prac 1-3 slots quite hard to book irrc (for after office hrs). Now I regretted not booking more and using more cancellations. I still have 13 to use, and I'm only left with Prac 8 and road revisions to cancel. If I had planned wisely wouldn't have taken so long to get here, argh.

@ken_nerve : Cant agree more. Sometimes the car instructor even stops the car right in the middle of the lane to explain about things.. despite one row of vehicles behind..

I remember that when I was taking prac 1, was so nervous that I couldn't keep the bike steady. For me, I think the most important think is not to be nervous. Not sure about others. >.

I have no sense of direction, am a slow rider and always lost. >.<"

True...just chill and have fun. Though I now still feel nervous and death grip the rubber grips when doing crank course...

Anyone registered as a member at this site before to attempt the RTT questions:

http://www.clickmycars.com/tengine/

I think there are some more sites like those where the test questions are available online, just not sure whether they're reliable or not.

I think it's better to go for RTT E-trials since they're free. Apparently the questions on these websites are quite different from the actual RTT (as experienced by yours truly :p)

Agreed, I failed my RTT 2 times before passing.

As in, before I go for my e-trial next week, the site I provided is sort of like a "sneak preview" for me. =D
