hello guys i am new here, took my first lesson 1 today, 7 of us only got to half clutch gear 1 at the mini circuit, are we slow?

Pace of lesson can vary greatly.. Got some people first lesson still stuck at the biting point, bang tire section. Then got some can pass on first try. I took 3 tries to pass lesson 1. X(

i registered just over a year ago. lol happy anniversary to meeeee!

after many years of NATO (no action talk only) i finally took the first step of enrolling at cdc yesterday. usd to ride 20 years ago, so i'm hoping it will help me minimize the number of lessons. been driving a car for 25 years so that experience should help too. but a bit disappointed at the long waiting times for lessons based on the online system.

Yah that's what I thought... Maybe looking for bike to bring me from point A to point B with best fuel consumption..

Honda wave would be good.

Or Yamaha FZ's

Test ride as many bikes as you can before deciding. You haven't yet discovered what sort of biker you are. You may now think you're a commute biker who's only looking for a point A to point B ride, but you may in due course discover that you're a passion-driven rider who needs an awesome ride with power and nimble handling for performance riding. You may just be the sort who's willing to sacrifice practicality for passion ;)

I used to think I'd be a pure commute biker and stick with my 2B bike. Four years on, it's pretty clear my initial sentiment was 180 degrees off ;) you'll only know after you get on the roads, start riding and start interacting with other riders and seeing how their bikes handle. Only time and experience will tell you what you really want.

You're gonna have so much fun...

I'm a fiercely practical guy too. To me, a bike is about passion, and it can never fully replace a car. I had been driving my own car for years when I first started learning 2B, and even today I continue to rely heavily on my car (and so does another uncle I know here). In fact, I often rely on my car to carry bike parts like fairings, exhausts, tyres etc. And you're right about the stupid rain.

But did passion really play no part in your decision to become a biker? And will biking continue to be a purely practical consideration once you start experiencing the amazing performance of bigger bikes? I don't know. Something about being on a two wheeled monster awakes passion in people. Perhaps you've simply yet to discover that passion ;) When the weather is fine and I've a choice between taking my car or my bike, there's really no fight - it's always the bike!

To be honest, it wasn't passion that made me want to ride. It was because i cannot stand travelling from Tampines to Boon Lay by public transport and need a faster method of transportation. Maybe that passion is not ignited yet. :thumb:

Ah, indeed our public transport is getting quite unbearable, and cans are super hard to find when you need them most. I'd rather take my chances risking my life on two wheels. The returns sure are worth the risk.
