@rijac Oh i see. Other then forming up into correct lanes and junctions, blindspots and obviously no accidents. Wont really fail right ? Hahaha

You could chalk up points or fail for lots of other stuff: wobbling at u-turn, failing to check before moving off at junction, failure to give way to other road users, failure to stop at give way line if necessary, etc. Lots of areas.

Lesson 6 no u turn but yes. Many reasons. Most things you would be trained already but with lesson 6 in the dark industrial area you can't see the lane markings clearly so you might not know what kind of junction and therfore form up incorrectly

Passed prac 2 after 2 tries. Time to dig thread for prac 3 "notes". :D

I learned under a different syllabus, so I don't know what is prac 3, but if its plank and slalom, check out my older posts in this thread and some other old ones.

You can find them by looking under my user profile instead of trawling through this thread. I've done some "cheat codes" and tips on the plank and slalom lesson, which I took four times to pass.

How many attempts did you guys take for your first practical lesson?

Unless you're someone who's coming back to retake a kantong license, or you've got prior illegal riding experience which makes you super proficient, you'll find that they typically make you do L1 at least twice.

@timewalker84 Yes I've found some really comprehensive "cheat sheets" by you and rijac. Saved them all to my Evernote for easy reference! Prac 3 I think is slope, figure 8 and crank, but no slalom. Feeling intimidated by the fig 8. Hope I don't hit the kerb (too many times) and fly off my bike.

3 friggin times. While someone in my group passed on his first try. On my first try I didn't even see the outer circuit. Was stuck doing merry-go-rounds.

I guess that super irritating lesson (plank slalom) must be L4 for CDC now.

Heh, the next two lessons are going to be fun for u. Listen carefully to the instructor and try to develop the right habits. I've always found that the fundamentals of good riding are learnt during these two lessons. Regrettably I picked up all sorts of bad habits while taking 2B, and only managed to correct them while taking 2A.

And don't worry about mounting kerb at figure 8. I mounted the kerb even as a 2A student, and I wasn't alone. Figure 8 poses a problem even for many 2A and class 2 students - you're not alone ;)

Thanks rijac and timewalker84 for your encouraging words! I'm super grateful that you guys are still around in this thread helping out the newbies. Your posts from a year ago have been invaluable to me.

i failed prac 6 :dot: Didnt see blinking right turn arrow i just go. lol plus missed 2 stop signs and lane positioning wrong. lool

Haha! Sounds oddly familiar! I did that for my L6 too! I quarreled with the instructor that night though. I argued that blinking arrow means you should go if you can't stop safely in time. Then they will be cunning about it and tell you that you were going too fast and that's the problem.

But missing 2 stop signs is a bit careless eh bro ;) Dun so kanchiong, relax and enjoy the ride, and you'll find that you make less mistakes. Don't be in a hurry to clear lessons. The more you want to rush through them, the more nervous you'll be and the more times you'll take.

I think we talked about the invisible stop line in lesson 6. That's why I said earlier the positioning and form up is what will make you fail

I'm just paying my dues back to the riding community bah ;) When I was a new 2B learner, I had a bunch of seasoned riders around here and in the centre teach me stuff and give me tips too.

When you pass and get your license, the true test begins - the fight for survival on our goddamned dangerous roads which are crawling with retard drivers out for our blood. That's when you'll REALLY need a good support network and tips ;)
