Just had my second attempt at Lesson 8 earlier today and managed to clear it. After i had gotten my result, i went to the counter and logged into my CDC account, I found out that I was already able to click on "Practical Test" on the left side, and discovered the following -

Does this means that i'm already able to book TP? As I have yet to clear my RTT, which is on the 25th August.

 

Anyone encountered a similar situation as i did before? Kindly advise. Thanks!

Tried clicking on the slot, and the following message came out in Red:

 

"Your Riding Theory have expired on: 31 Dec 1900 . Please resit your RTT again."

 

Looks like i can't book TP yet as i have not cleared my RTT. But, as in the image i provided, that means that one is already able to book TP?

Hi guys... I'm new here. Sunday is my circuit orientation. Just wanna noe when we pay for the helmet and kneeguard elbowguard, is it brand new? Or where u guys purchase new helmet and accessories? get from cdc or elsewhere? helmetboys.com

Yes its brand new and if u wan. U can get from helmetboys.com which I think the price is fair enough for new comer for learning bike. Suggest u get a hand sleeves for sun shade of your arm when u taking lessons at day time. And since Sunday is your circuit orientation u need go back cdc on weekday yo apply PDL before you could start booking lessons 1

Thanks for the advice. Appreciate it. Is it fast to move on from one prac to another prac lesson? When i got class 3 license, i got private lesson and it seems fast.

I'm currently at lessons 7. From lessons 1 to 5. It's very fast if u got time and money. I clear my 1 to 6 within 3 weeks.. cos I everyday log in at sessions end time to check for last minute cancellation by ppl who passed their prac...

when buying helmet, do i have to take considerations that i'm wearing specs?Helmetboys have measurement shown which my head size is M. But i'm wearing specs. Advisable to get one size bigger?

I can't answer that as the best advise I could give u is to try the helmet yourself before buying. Different model / brand helmet got different helmet shell size. So when u do the measurement it might be M. But some helmet shell is different shape and it became L for u.. so as I said my advise would be try it before buying. Don't rush to buy until u wore it comfortable..

Any tips on how to prevent "Wobble when/during lane changing" ? I always tend to get points for it and the instructors always tell me during revisions , "Number 5, don't wobble your bike!"

TP test to me is non-sense. It does not assess how well we ride, but how perfectly we execute every single move. I failed TP two days ago because of two things that were out of my control.

 

1. At T junction in the circuit, I was about to turn right. Traffic was clear, so I decided to move off. Coincidentally, another bike appeared towards the my right hand side coming out of the slope. Bad luck! I was marked against taking evasive action and failing to look out for traffic. That dude JUST came out of the slope, was too far to be a threat or cause an accident.

2. I was the first bike stopping on the filter lane on the road. As the traffic cleared and I was about to move off, I saw on the opposite direction a car tried to beat the red light turning right towards the road I was going to turn into. I had moved very slightly after checking back right and left blind spot. So I had to jam brake and repeated them then moved off. I was mark against Failing to check blind spot, improper checking of blind spot, wobble when negotiating bend. So what, if I had carried on anyway, I would have been marked more points for incident number 1 above! So I am at the losing end either way.

 

Plus all the typical non-sense we are marked against like wobble when moving off (nobody has escaped this from my observation) etc, my points were over the limit. Similar to the fact that everybody would simply fail if there was an unfortunate event (one participant failed because he was hit by a car on the road while stationary at traffic light), environment plays a big part in our passing rate. To me this is unfair. Not only our skill is being assessed, but our luck is, too!

 

Now look at road rage being a serious issue. This to me is a result of very restricted rules in school and the length of time before anybody can obtain a license. It makes people nuts waiting and unleash the tension when they have had a license. They go crazy. I have driven and ridden in other countries. People give way and put up hand to say thank you when given way. It is a very uptight society here. I blame the systems. You all do not fall for it!

 

It takes 3 full-day lessons in America, 2 full-day lessons in Australia, and equivalent to SGD 40 bribe in Indonesia to obtain a motorcycle license. It takes at least 6 months here! Is accident rate much higher there? NO! People loosen up more and have much less road rage. Except for Indonesia, where people do not give way due to the way traffic is, people still do not get mad. They just find a way to squeeze through. It is an accepted approach. Ultimately, much less road rage and not necessarily higher accident rate.

 

Next TP test is in October. *sigh*
