All the best! Count yourself lucky if you get the Raime Chung (or something) or another Malay instructor who's quite old as instructor. Very friendly + less strict (but will still penalise you for mistakes lah, lol).

Next time when you go for lesson can you go inside the office and take a pic of the notice board where the name and pics of instructors are posted? :p Like that then I can advice you on their personalities. Hahaha.

Raime is a very nice instructor..

If not mainly for him, I wouldn't have passed my 2B tp..

During revisions, he corrected me and explained everything back down to the detail all over again..

Haven't got the chance to thank him proper

Yes yes, totally agree with you bro. He's very patient and the friendliest unlike some of the instructors whom I shall not name lol

Wow seems like you know everyone there!

Finally passed my lesson 3 after the 4th attempt XD But I keep falling and fumbling here and there. I think when lesson 5 come I'll die at the slope.

Anyway what do I have to take note of for lesson 4?

Lesson 4 is plank, slalom and ebrake.

All 3 of the components requires you to have really the skill then they will pass you. The most irritating one of all is the emergency brake, they often fail you for not having the correct posture, in which you think that you already have, but they still think you don't have. Correct posture is to look straight, elbows must lock, most importantly have to stop before the second line, I think red colored if I'm not wrong. I think you can find the guide somewhere in this thread, I'm sure our dear @rijac has mentioned it before! And if you don't know anything, just keep asking the instructor, since first time they will most likely fail you no matter what, might as well ask your money worth of questions. And lastly, good luck. :D

For slope you don't have to worry. Since there's no time limit, keep your foot on the rear brake pedal until you are sure that you have reached the biting point of the bike. Once you reach it (by hearing the revving go weaker), turn your throttle to the max and let go of the clutch and brake slowly. And yep, just like what bro neowenbin said for the e-brake. They say speed is 30-35, so try to maintain at that. Since they are using new bikes, I'm not sure what gear goes with what speed. The old bikes are 3rd gear under 4k rpm for the ideal speed.

Anyway, for the plank, grip your knees against the fuel tank, go up fast, look straight at NEVER look down. When on the slope, slow down your speed by tapping your brakes lightly. Intermediate braking (as learned from the Defensive Riding Course) works well to your advantage on the slope. You will also need proper control of your clutch (ideally half-clutch, make sure the bike never leaves its biting point, or you will lose balance when it reaches the biting point again, making you accelerate suddenly). For the slalom, look at the exit of it. Don't look at the cones, and remember to check right before exiting. If you succeed in doing this, well, time for your CR for lesson 5 :p

Hello everyone! Haven't been posting here for the longest time already lol. Maybe I'll do a bit of update.

Didn't come here to post mostly because I failed my 1st TP back in October and I feel demoralized. Wanted nothing to do with Class 2B talk. Earlier this morning I failed my 2nd TP again haha. I feel even more demoralized now.

After today's TP, it really struct me on how strict the testers are. 1st TP was okay, I failed because I screwed up and I know it. Today it feels different (at least for myself). Every little mistake I was penalized. I felt I did better than my 1st TP in terms of riding, but I ended up getting more demerit points than 1st TP.

With this very very strict practical test, I'm afraid I will never pass, honestly speaking.

I've spent about $1.5K on Class 2B already and I still can't pass. Another $100++ ($35 for RT, $55 for TP and more money for Circuit/Road revisions) will push my Class 2B lessons to almost $1.7K (ouch).

I feel there must be a time when I tell myself to stop. Anyway, I'm currently a student with no income. I can't possibly keep pumping money into bike lessons. I've decided to close my account.

However, riding is still one of my deep down interests. When I've graduated and have entered the working force, I will definitely get back to getting my Class 2B when I am more financially well off. My dream is to get a Class 2B license, but I'll have to postpone it for a few years for now.

Enough about me lol. Even though I've not been posting here for months, I still come to this thread and see see look look for tips and tricks. Thanks to everyone who post helpful tips here I really appreciate it.

Wtf bro, by doing this you just threw $1.7k into the ocean. You really shouldn't have closed your account.

I have not close my account, but I plan on doing so soon. Like I said, I am a student with no income I can't keep up with the cost anymore. Anyway I don't think I can pass my 3rd TP also honestly.

You must know where exactly did you get penalized a lot, then work on it. I thought we're supposed to feel more confident for the next one after failing?

And just like ber said, slowly take your time, you close account everything will be gone, if you leave it and renew, I think it's about $50 for half a year.

All the best.

i have learned a bit more about ebrake since i posted the lesson tips. the new bikes are similar to the old bikes and if anything the brakes bite better.

the key is getting to the cruising speed within the first 2 gears - first gear you ram.... second gear you ram... when touch 30+ kmh you shift to 3rd and maintain, don't accellerate anymore.. if you are still accellerating to reach 30kmh in 3rd gear means you might be too fast when you need to brake.

maintain the constant speed at around 30kmh or abit more and then close throttle the moment you reach the line and squeeze the front and rear brakes with your elbows locked, look straight ahead.

don't give up. you are not the worst. trust me. i've met people who took 8 lesson 8 before even getting to do 1 TP. the last mile is the hardest. just go for it. trust me - if you don't complete it now you may never do it. once you get into work life and family life etc the time will not be there.

Can I offer a different perspective? I'm not saying that you should give up, but maybe the time is not right yet for you. Maybe something in the universe is trying to tell you that you should slow down and reflect. Things happen for a reason and the answer may not appear to you immediately but in time you will realise.

Just my two cents.
