In the civics dreams.....

Unless it is a very heavily modded Civic SIR but definately not the stock SIR.

Stock SIR 0-100km/h = 7.2s ( which is very good for a 1.6 NA car)

Stock EVO 8 0-100km/h = 5.1s (2s is about 3-4 lamp post difference)

Saw with my own eyes, Civic with a heavyly 2litre engine winning WRXs on the 40 tiang.

But loses to the EVOs cos basically EVO is much lighter then the rexs and has very very minimum Turbo Lag.

A stock DC5 can cream a stock 220bhp rex flat but not the Evo

A modded up DC5 might win a stock Evo on sprints

Mybe a stock Evo. Definately not the modded ones.

The race i mentioned was a Modded EG6 with 2 litre engine or the B18C 1.8 Type R engine (can't really remember). The EG6 makan lots of rexs but Still kena Maken by the Evos. Civics eatting rexs are common due to power to weight and rexs are using Boxer engines which when the turbo lags, the power is Fu*ked!! But the Evos are using In line 4 engines and much lighter then the rexs and thus very minimum lag esp now the MR is using Titanium Turbos thus making it ver very much difficult for civis to makan them.

Remember no matter how hard or how light the civic mod itself, it's still only a FF car. And FF cars has it's litmit due to the chassis structure esp the civic has very very weak chassis structure.(Honda themselves admiited it as a manufacture fault after tons of EGs break into 2 at the part just behind the front wheel) :faint: U dun see Japanese FF cars having more then 220Bhp stock. It's for a reason. The DC5 and Euro R are 220bhp But the potential of their engines can go much much more but they did not do it is of course for a reasons. If u notice those professionals that mod their FF cars over 220bhpo have very strong chassis strengthen process like Roll cage and add additional weilding to the original chassis struture.... Only the Continentail cars like the alfa GTA has 250bhp and Volvo S80 T6 with 280bhp BUT after tons of R&D to strengthen the chassis and the automobile world call this a technological breakthru for a FF car to be able to take and pass such high BHP.... :faint:

In other words over modded yr civic will cause the car to be uncontrollable. cos for the civic esp, the potential of the B series engine, the engine can be modded to much more the chassis can take it.

Hope this helps.... :thumb:

Check out the weights of the different models and u'll understand y the difference in HP.

7ponnds = 1 House Power lost. so if u too heavy also make a diff  .

the newer rexs are more into safty and handling then power.

1998 STIs GC8 - 1,270kg

2004 STIs MY05 - 1,715kg.

A whooping nearly 300kg difference. That's a lot of HP lost. Besides The Engine EJ20 is still the same. :thumb:

Good luck in finding one :thumb:

Will inform u if my fren wanna sell his. also 1998 but it's the Ver V Type R 2 door version.

MIsfiring or Back Fire is not very healthy for yr engine.

Reason why the WRC cars Misfire is not purposely tune for that. As rally cars are usaully very high reving due to keeping the traction and thus the Air Fuel Mixture is very Rich to prevent ceasing of the piston. Thus u notice they always back fir after a out of a Drift is because before they drift in a corner they will blip or the sequential gearbox will automatic do tat and thus fuel goes unburn. the moment they engage gear and yet at a high rev, misfire/back fire with the flame happens. It doesn't add any additional power as it is a common misunderstanding just unburn fuel thats all.

But of course it looks cool when u back fire on the streets lah..

It's not illegal to back fire as it can happen to any wrongly turned cars that are too rich. BUT it's a sign to show the ROVs that u have a very highly mod engine under the hood as usually only highy mod cars misfire due to the richness of the Air/Fuel Ratio.....

so to the extent it seems it's not reali legal on streets.

The newer models of EVos hit a max of 220km juz a full tank,is it true?

How abt the older 1998 Wrx?

All cars can be modified to become like pro racers... But question is Do u have the dough??

U can strenghthen the chassis(Chassis modification illegal), Lighten the body(remove a insulation and unnessarry seats, carbon fibre bonnet and booot which is illegal), remove Un neccessary items like Aircon( can u take the heat), radio, engine mods (illegal), Free flow exhaust (Legal ones are like sh*t), Plastics Windows and windscreen), Carbon Brake disc, Bla bla....

And can u stand Fines after fines???

Pro racers have sponsors.... We dun...

Then the big Question!!! Can we handle such cars?? Are we skilled enough compared to the pros that spend hours a day in the track to handle such power??

Hornestly very minority of the 225bhp WRX owners can actually handle the FULL potential of the car yet mod it up to higher BHP... Ever wonder what is the WRX best for?? But y are pple concern about 0-100 for the rex? How high the BHP for the rex?

Why no one or few ever ask How to Increase my Tourque for my rex? Hornestly this is wat the rex is for... Mid range tourque!! It's built for the Tracks and circuits, rallys, windy roads. Not Straight road sprint, century sprint... It may be one of the fastest in Singapore roads.. But a well done civic can cream the rex anytime in century sprint!! But never on track... different usage...

Different cars have different capabilities... U need to know what u wan then look for that car that u need.... :thumb:

Sorry..

I can't advise u on the OTr of cars as i'm not a car sales man.

If u ask me, WRX is a worth buy. 4wd, 225bhp, safe and tough chassis, all less than 100k... Full of after market mods too...

if u like NA, DC5 is also good.

depends on wat u wan. Turbo cars are never good in Petrol comsumption.

PM me if u need more info on turbo cars.

as for NA cars, think Normal Aspirated will be in a better position to advise u.. :thumb:
