the "zinc zinc zinc " sound its like the tyre finish makin 1 rotating , i didnt press brake or anything , i juz let it roll , its like once every complete rotation sort of thing , guess i will try the bearing first.

Chain i oil regularly veri smooth

use WD40 on the movable parts.. maybe rain washed dry the areas, that's why got that sound..

juz pray that it's not your brake disc warp..

1st)if got sound during braking confirm brake pad finish and change be4 it damage ur disk brake....2nd)glide ur finger at ur disk brake is should be smooth should not have bumps or rough surface if yeah disk brake 'gone'.... if bumps not that bad if rough surface jialat... can repair by cutting layer to remove bumps and rough surface..... braking power will decrease

Either 1

new brake pad also make shitty eee sound need to sand off the edges abit then no sound... sometimes too dirty the brake also make sound go and bleed and blow ur brake

most prob is the brake pad that rub on the disc .maybe u can jack up your bike to check, try to move your rim left and right see if the rim shake ,if the rim shake that means your bearing is spoil.this is wat i see from bikeshop how they check if the bearing is spoil,

the eeeee eeee eeee sound of the brake mite be due to the glazing of the brakepad...veri common in disc brake systems...tis is wen the brake pad got tis lyk shiny layer at the braking surface...to remedy, juz take out ur pad and sand the braking suface untill u cannot see shiny...den blow the pad to make sure no brake dust at the brake pad...den put it back in caliper...and aft tat shud not have the eeee eeeee eeee sound...

Hi all. my right side front brake is giving out noisy scratching sound whenever i ride.

This is a new 1 week old Spec 3 and the noise is getting louder. Its irritating.

Went back to shop but they said its normal due to brake dust. But howcome only affect right side of the brake.

Another ques is my rear brake disc is damn hot. cannot touch for more than 4seconds after stopping. Now, the shop says its normal too.

Pls help to clarify. Thanks a lot

scratching sound .. then ask the mech to clean the pads lah .. if too loud then ask the place u buy the bike from to cure it.

if brake disc is hot because u brake too much loh .. .. friction will generate heat so to avoid the rotors to heat up then dont use the brakes sure cold one ..

Bro mdradhi...as ur bike is new its quite normal for the new pads to create a bit of sound when braking coz the pads have not worn evenly but of course the sound shouldnt be too loud then it means somethings not rite with either ur brake pads or brake disc... btw for rear brake disc to be damn hot after u ride,i think its normal...no worries..

ive been using my spec3 for more then 1yr..i agree that the front brakes do make some funny sound cos it happen to me also n the are other spec3 riders who have complain abt this matter..and actualy the sound is still there (sometimes) after more then a year riding.. not sure y though..

abt your rear brakes, i dun touch it after riding so no comments.. but just an advise, to use more of your front brakes rather than your rear..if u are used to braking using your rear, u will see yourself kissing the road wen u suddenly e-brake during wet weather.. n there are reasons y theres 2 sets of front brake.

my 2 cents..

din, did clean it before but then the sound come again and now the shop says nothing can be done. claimed its normal. Nwe, i've tried riding for 40km without using rear brake. Its indeed cool. Thanks Din.

even when u did not apply the brake? that's a good advise bro. Remind me of my RXZ incident last year. thanks

Mine was different. Front was warm but the right side was cooler. the sound will be there throughtout the ride. dun need to apply brake. once apply, there will b a screeching sound as well.

Lastly, thanks all for the help...clear some of my doubt

we can actually chamfer the brake pads by grinding. the sound will goes off but then after some time, the sound will come back again. its the brake dust that is making the sound. some older bike have rotors slightly warped will oso experience this sound.

Though i have not used many brand of brake pad, but stock brake pad do not produce as much heat as compared to aftermarket ones. U can do a test if u like.

Lesser heat produce oso would have lesser chance for brake disc to warp.
