It was unplanned one.Cause I always go till 50-60km in the F-trip.but that day need to go tuas and the petrol stations are quite far away.Now my TDM i try till 70-80km and dun dare to try anymore.

anyone know why when sometimes i close throttle i'll experience backfire ? does having a loose timing chain/tensioner got anything to do with it ?

Sorry for the late reply.I fell asleep already.Going to JB thru woodlands at 1plus 2 am shouldnt be much of a Jam,but just make sure you come back before 4plus-5am,as most workers are coming to work already.

hi enhanzed, have u got an aftermarket slip on or r u still with the stock exhaust ? backfire happens when the petrol and air mixture is not right, the pressure in the pipes. original settings follow the stock pipes. so u basically need a proper tuning. ummm...PC3 would work. if it's in normal condition without modification, do get it checked at hong leong.

Read somewhere, use leaner engine oil, will cool off the engine slightly. To reduce the heat, remove the catalytic convertor and change to aftermarket exhaust, preferably the carbon fibre type.

 

PS: They cost a bomb tho =D

maxima supporter but all oils feel the same to me ... leaner oils = less heat but more noise and less protection

I used the Mobil 1 oil on the r1 . Not bad , gear change was smooth as compared to the Shell Oils tat Hong Leong gives . Temp still increases , but not tat fast .

thanks all. i have checked out some reviews and found out that the most important thing in an engine oil would be the viscosity and the additives in them which is determined by the such code as API or JASO. so for motorcycles and we are talking on road use here, which means everyday commuting, start/stop n touring BUT not hard riding, tracks, then, any engine oil with viscosity 10w50/10w40/5w50 with API SJ/API SL and JASO MA( extremely required) is suitable for the Fazer.

 

JASO MA = no friction modifiers

JASO MB = with friction modifiers

So, u may use any oil but please make sure there are at least these requirements on the bottle which are tested and approved.

Fazer manual states that the requirements is :

exceeds API SG, JASO MA and not JASO MB

API SG now has taken over by API SJ,SL.

got the balls?..oh that is not a really nice way to put it. Seng kwang does the cat removal.
