going 1 size down from the original specification is not a problem, but if you are going 1 size up from the original specification, you got to check for clearance of the rear fenders and swingarm

having a smaller size wheel will improves on your pickup and corners

so do i pump the same tyre pressure (290kPa) as indicated by the sticker on the chain guard for both 190/50 and 180/55?

Regards

The sticker on the chain guard is just a guide line for us.Max 290kPa (42 psi)

I use 250kPa front and rear for riding but now use 270kPa for rear as I only use it twice a week.

Past rides are already history....

Current ride: FW VFR 800 ABS

The manual for my old school Gen 1 FZS1000 states this anyway:

Up to 90Kg (Weight of rider, passenger, cargo...etc):

36PSI Front and 39 PSI Rear

Up to 189Kg:

37PSI Front and 42 PSI Rear

- tire pressure gota depends on type of tyres use olso.

- weight of rider & pillion gota take in2 consideration olso.

- pattern or riding style gota take in2 consideration olso.

- mine is stock bt020 front & bak.

- my preference tyre pressure is front 235 rear 260 & best is 2 pump at nite.
