thanx van..

but i dunno yet how it look like.was hoping look like those short gp style end can. haven't got time to survey ard. any advice for first timer taking dis bike out? the dos n dont's?

For those short GP style end can, you might want to consider Leo Vince.

For first timer, i suggest you go for Dyno Hard Break in, but is up to your own preferance, cause some people prefer to self break in.

DO have fun, DON'T worry much. AHHahaha :cheeky:

i personally think that dyno break ins are for pple who dun love their bike enuf. why waste the money and mileage on a dyno machine, when u can spend the time at leisure to bond with your bike, and get to know the intricate ins and outs of it while u ride into the breeze?

I dare not agree with ya on the "dun love their bike enuf" part haha, but personally I feel that I would try to understand the machine myself first, being the first owner to experience it when it's still a virgin! What I have done for my break in was, for the first 1000km, I did 50% on local riding, 50% on highway riding, which was on NSHW and I followed what the manual says, not exceeding a certain range of RPM etc etc. Everyone has their own way of doing, but this is my preferred one. :)

Something to share after riding my FZ6S for 4 days. Hope some you finds it useful. 70% highway (90~110KM/H), 30% city ride (30~50KM/H).

1. The engine is so smooth it make me thought i bought a Honda!:cheeky:

2. However, the Engine brake felt stronger than any bikes i'hv ridden before. But there is a Loud howling during engine braking and speed above 90km/h.

IS BOTH THIS NORMAL? ANYWAY TO REDUCE BOTH OF IT?

3. Very nice linear and strong engine that I hardly have to change gears most of the time.

4. It pull cleanly from 2k rpm ups.

5. 320km cost me 13.8L of petrol. The last fuel bar hv not start blinking.

this cal to be about 23km/l! better than my F4.:thumb:

Hi Guys, any suggestion on chain lub? Like which brand better?

:cheeky:

Maxima Chain Wax. Great, very minimal splash of the chain wax onto your bike's body parts unless you over lub the chain.

Practice make perfect....But since Nothing is perfect, Why practice so hard? by Cowboy Wong....

Why u travel so fast 90-110kmph, i thought u still running in. My fazer6 also new taken last week only, still running in, i only go 80kmph. My fuel consumption is terrible. only 200km after left2 bar--jia lat man. is it because i travel too slow 80kmph nia use many petrol ? Is the term crusiing speed= save petrol speed. and wat the cruising speed for fazer6 ah , any brother noes?

Sometimes i feel my ex s4 spec3 is still better, in term of petrol and smoothness and the sound of the super4 spec3 VTEC engine very nice to hear but my this fazer sound so rough ha ha.

You don't have to ride at 80kph to run in a CL2 bike, be it a 1000 or 600. Just watch your rpm. You can ride up to 7K rpm during run in, for Yammies, I believe.

I've run in 2 Yammies, and the figures are always around there.

CL2 bike.... 130kph during run-in also won't stress out the engine. This is not a 400.

I've found that riding at 4000 to 6000 rpm usually gets you the best fuel economy. Fuel economy is not a just a function of engine rpm alone, or speed alone.

It's a combination of both: RPM for speed over time, hence distance covered.

i.e,: You try to run the lowest rpm for the highest travelling speed to cover the most distance.

Hence running at 5K rpm at top gear most of the time will get you the best fuel economy.

On my bike, that's 120kph. Tried and tested. So whenever I'm on the E'way, I always endeavor to stick to 110kph. On normal roads, regardless of speed limit, I try stick to 4000rpm in top gear. All in the name of fuel economy. :p

Fully agreed. Alot Pple will think sticking to 80km/h is the proper running in method. If my memory serve me well, my brand new R1(ex-bike) stated first 800km do not rev more than 6k rpm..i took out bike on the first day and found that 6k rpm is about 160km/h in top gear...thats the speed i am running in.

Past rides are already history....

Current ride: FW VFR 800 ABS

I keep on thinking super4 run in method , stay only 80kmph. i found slow and sian but also scare spoil the engine ma if travel too fast. but after hear wat u had say i going to give it a try travel 110kmph while still running in. and also see is it really save petrol a not at top gear 4rpm and speed is 110kmph, thks for ur help brother.
