dey... why want to fit a 190 tyre on a fz6 leh? The engineers at yamaha who designed the bike factored in everything in their design, surely for good reasons right? an fz6 is not as powderful as an fz1, don't need as large a contact patch lah. If even fz1 also can use 180 rear, surely it must be enough for a 600cc bike right? U like fat rear tyres ah?

 

Ok lah bros, my bad for having such thoughts, I shall stay humble with my humble FZ6. Won't do it again, ok?

Just to clarify...

 

180/55 rears corner better than 190/50. More curvature means better lean angle.

 

190/50 give you more contact patch upright... that's why 1000s use them... needs contact patch for 150HP. But at full lean, the 190/50 actually has LESS contact patch than a 180/55 or 190/55

Just to clarify...

Take one look at the tyre profiles here and you'll automatically figure it out.

A forummer, Hartolomew explains it quite nicely. Don't forget, the Gen 1 Fazer 1 has a 5.5 inch rim too and can take up to 180 max. The Gen 2 uses a 6 inch rim. So we can't for sure say that all 1000s use 6 inch rims. Late model ones do. Older 1000s may not...

I've a 2007 FZ6 black fairings, looking to trade for 2008 FZ6 silver + top up from mi.

My bike has been washed & waxed regularly since day 1 on rd, nomral wear & tear is expected but no cracks.

 

Just wish to have a new colour scheme, so interested pls PM mi with contact.

Me just had a relaxing crusie to no where ride just to run run my Slow Little Greenie FZ. Nice ride, to ECP onto AYE then 99 bend & to Marina Barrage for some photo shoots. What a nice late night ride, Cool temp for the 'HOTSHOT' Fizzy. Saw a FZ6 on the TPE with 4 lazers, nice config.

agree... then if u lube ur chain, if there was any spill overs then left on the pipe and you didn't clean it off before you ride, the heat might jus burn off the lubes and it will look ugly and might cause problem later...

For those who enjoys D.I.Ys, changing of the clutch cable for FZ1 Gen2 is no walk in the park. I wetted my balls for 1/2 an hour trying to get it fixed. hahaha....

Call the shops that sell H&B for the most updated info. Start with M-Technik, then Chiap Lee. There's one more shop selling but I forgot the name. Bike Lab or something. Don't bother with HKL because they get their stock from Chiap Lee.
