Hey thanks max.

i won't be using the steel wool lah. so sayang if scratch the header.and like you said may promote rust afterwards. I think i slowly use brasso and cloth and wipe slowly lah hor. cannot clean it overnite la. may take a few session before the melt nylon will slowly go away. So lesson learnt, don't cover the bike while its still hot! haiyo!

Anyway i prefer the ermax bellypan than e oem one. Looks more garang lah esp on a naked fazer. but the oem more suitable with the half faired. juz my tot!

yup, take your time to remove it, it can be done.

You should get a heat resistant cover, cost should be around $30

Wah! The belly pan broke off after you rode through a flood!?! I guess it was scooping to much water. I'm considering the belly pan as well. Does it lower the ground clearance alot? Any issues with humps?

Hahaha...scoop water, i like that. Infact in olden days, the belly pan thingy ppl used to call it 'Joon' (boat). I guess due to the speed and the resistant of the water the bl@@dy pan just simply torn away. Ground clearance shouldn't be any prob. The center of the pan is an exposed area where the header pipes are.

SOoo if you ever crash the hump, it's your header pipes that giving the 'mourning' sounds... Unless you are so unlucky that the front tip of the pan is shoveling the hump. Or did i not tried that before...

This applies to Ermax design, not too sure abt the OEM's. But by the pic gauge, the center should be expose too.

Power bronze also have belly pan. For FZ1 06 onwards.

Feel sorry for you bro intruder.I was also thinking of getting a belly pan but after your mishap,it needs to be reconsidered.Nowadays a lot of hazards on SG roads.I was driving my friend's car ystrdy when a solid red brick fell off from a huge truck carrying waste brick and it went under the car.Couldn't avoid it.THUMP!!!It hit the bottom of the car like somebody slammed all the 4 car doors shut at the same time!Damn now I avoid riding or driving behind or beside a heavy vehicle. You never know what danger lurks...

Some SG roads are like Jb now or even worse in some parts of SG... Stay alert n ride safe bros.

Ya, Singapore road is much dangerous now. Drivers are much inconsiderate, they think they are king. In M'sia, they are fast and dangerous, but they have the unwritten set of code to respect fellow roard users.... Sigh... ride safe bros.

Hong Leong get yamaha bikes from europe. So FZ6R will not be available unless its in their europe website. I presume you saw the FZ6R in yamaha US website. You could refer to yamaha europe for the whole range of yamaha bikes. Diff region have diff color scheme too.Hope that helps.

Mine was Ermax... I bought it cos i bought the ERMAX side panel (half fairing) who knows......sigh......... $270 just gone with the paddle of water when i dashed through it....

Didn't realise it till i got home, at 1st still no feeling then realised that plastic costed $270, LL rode back to search.... can't be found. Found also no use.. the brute force simply tore the mountings (raw force) apart, mount side wall still with bracket.... main pan gone.... :(

Motoworld for Ermax products....

Thank you. But now my slow FZ1 bottom is naked.... no more pan to shield liao.

I did see the slight changes in the temperature dispation after installing the side panels. It goes slower. Air flow may not as good as before for the heat to go out. Though very slight only.

wah.. so price i was quoted at un*que is over-priced?

and recccomended shop to go to?

Go to HL to do lor... they always give an overestimate...

But hen considering the no. of parts to change is in the region of 20s, I think anything less then 500 bucks is reasonable. The most costly item is prob your water pump assembly.

Hhmm, for me i prefer the OEM de, cause for Ermax de easily lose in the flood, casue i remember for incident last time, same thing happen, go over a flood, then the pan gone.

OME de will prefectly fit into the bike w/o any problem.

Europe = XJ6 Diversion - Bikini head fairings

US = FZ6R - Full fairings with "Suzi" head cowling.

Basically both bikes is the same except for the fairings diff.

XJ6N only for euro market.. same case for FZ1N and FZ6N.

Those who love to know the in depth of your FZ can try to own this type of manual, very specific type to book (if we are talking on the same book). Cheap cheap now.

Fazer 1000 pre 06workshop manual in the Bay

FZ1 CD manual

Check if it includes the FZ6 model

Hahaha!! i had the service manual for Gen2 FZ1. Let me know if you interested. In pdf format.

Thank bro. Same here, i think i was shared here from the past posting. The beautiful side of public forum. Useful stuffs. :thumb:

The book is for FZ before 06 model. Any lobang for the 2005 & below FZ? Maybe if i can try to see what's the diff between 06 & 05's some of the minor parts. Would be useful to see if there are any interchangables.
