eSystem meaning controlled electrically ?

alamak another electrical thingy dono will eat up the electrical system of the bike a not

but its technology is high tech good eh :thumb:

If install correctly, i think sldn't be a issue.

E diff is that you can adjust the flow of the oil to your chain via the system. so if raining day, you can open more oil, sunny day lesser oil.

Does anyone have a rust problem at the fuel filler rim when you open the fuel cap? I have 6 month old FZ1 and the rust is pretty bad ( brown powder), the service personnel tells me they are all the yamahas are like that and reluctant to change and I am supposed to clean it everyday???. Do any of you have the same problem?

Bike is 5mth old only, HL says they wont change the part. They tell me all the new yamahas are like that. And I always use my bike cover at work and home when parking and it still rusts?

i wonder is that covered under warranty?

To me looks like the seal is not working well, the service advisor told me Im not the only one have complaint and nothing he can do about it, I will look for the person in charge. Cannot tahan this BS reasoning. He claims Im supposed to clean it with WD 40 everyday....so am i gonna get 10 year supply of WD40?? :?

Mine also something lk this, sometime you ride in the rain also will kanna, heard that Yamaha Bike got such issue, same to R1 and R6 as well.

There is no replacement for that, unless you have to change the whole oil tank as what HL told me, cause is some how connected to the whole oil tank.

Might be ride in the rain and after that you did dry the area after parking.

the service advisor is crappy...

and it's not advisable to use WD40 on that area too lo... he is simply wanting u to kill ur own engine asap lo...

:faint:

Can use WD40, bt only on the top part, cause the botten part will still be lub by ur petrol. The purpose of apply WD40 is to remove the rust, dun need to apply everyday.

mine look worst than that... haha

You need to dry the area if you ride in the rain, need to open the cap and wipe it with a cloth. then it will not be so jia liat liao.

Might come back again since the seal isnt working properly, that pic i took i cleaned it 2 days ago then heavy rain riding...become like that....its unacceptable, I challenged the HL guy asking where in the user manual or service bulletin say must dry the area every now and then. My old yamaha 10 yrs old outside rust inside also never rust...I got a neighbour who has an 08 R1 which is 3 mths old...never cover...must check with him....My friend 07 R6 got discolration at the area but no rust at all, also rain or shine no cover.

Stuff a cloth or something to prevent rust 'powder' from dropping into the tank. cannot avoid much though when you try to remove the cloth from the hole. Try remove it tactfully. If you can, dun sand it anyway.

Mine was found rust stain many mths back. 'Tulan' me did not try to sand it over as i do not want to let the powder drop into my tank. I tried cleaning the rusted rim of the petrol top up point repeatedly. You can try WD 40 or some light. Try not to use tissue or toilet paper, they will disintegrate and drop into your tank if not careful.

After cleaning of the obivious rust. I apply light silicon grease on the rim. After that ops rusty is minimum, although that film of grease may fall off soon, but at try to protect the raw metal from oxidizing. The rusty mark is still on the rim of the topup point. Didn't bother that much la. As long not water go in and not pertrol come out. I am fine. Oh yes, apply light grease on the black stopper seal on your tank cap.

PS. All application of the grease MUST not be those flamable easily type. DO NOT overcoat the tank system with grease. Lightly film ok liao.
