Guess the Fazer Gen 2 is already 'done right', so no re-vamps needed.

Well, the proof is that it is still selling good, ya? :)

For 2010, I think the ECU will be remapped to give more low-mid range power, read it somewhere.

WOW, we like these stories that have been flagged up by the chaps at Moto Journal.

According to their French sources (which historically have been bang on the money) not only is Yamaha planning a stunning FZ8.

Surely it's only a short stop from FZ8 to 800cc M1 road replica, isn't it? Or maybe that last bit's just us doing a bit of wishful thinking...

The FZ8 and S600RR do look bloody cool on the cover though!

Hello guys,

anyone of you riding a FZ1 gen 2 with Givi box/ rack?

I want to find out if it is sturdy enough (my old, old,old Super 4 Givi rock like a viking) and do i have to buy the base plate separately.

Please advise.

Thanks!

Hmmmm...from this article does it means FZ6 will be obsolete and be taken over by XJ6. FZ8 will be available from 2011 onwards. The pic shown still a illustration of what a FZ8 might look like.

Well...the weird thing is that the XJ6 is supposed to be a lower end mid-range bike and the FZ6 is supposed to be the higher end one, but the price I've seen priced the XJ6 above the FZ6.

Strange...or maybe bcos they clearing stock...

Mmmmm.

From another rumor below .... Maybe most likely FZ6 will be dead xxxxxxxxxx

That was the headline on page 7 of this fortnights Australian Motorcycle News!

According to the magazine it is reportedly going to be a 750cc naked, carrying the name FZ8.

Yamaha has filed a trademark application for the name FZ8...according to AMCN.

The article goes onto say that the idea makes sense, more power, more importantly, more torque, and would go a long way to explaining the introduction of the XJ6..

The magazine suggests a 2010 launch is possible, but more likely, it's to be a 2011 lauch.

and then goes to talk about where the powerplant would come from....suggesting an upsized r6 motor...

There is even a very sexy pic of what the new bike could look like.

AMCN is normally pretty reliable with stuff like this, so are we about to see a new era in the FZ line up???

I can give you a list of what I think is wrong with the Gen 2, if you're really interested....

This is a photoshop take on the "gen 3", i tink.

Well, there's talk about taking the latest R1 cross-plank engine and retuning it for the "Gen3". The head fairing with those R2 lights...etc. All talk now, i suppose.

Anyway, i wonder a average joe like me can feel the difference between cross-plank, narrow plank, rainbow plank...etc.

Just give me a good engine, a good riding posture, good this, good that, can liao, but most important, good price. haha...

You will suprise that there are many Yammy supporter in France.

The rumoured FZ8 seems only little diff from the FZ1N. The frame works and tail with the peg looks the same. Only distinctives are the head light, gaso tank, exhaust and the rad guard.

IMO only, strictly.

It's a neither here nor there & you love it or hate it design..... i call it half pail sh!t design. With the R1 head cowl and tail, FZ has lost it's original taste of Street look. Look closely, the mirrors, the tissue box exhaust Ride height and posture.....etc betray the look and are parts of the destructive 'ingredients' that kills the fiercesome look when they try very hard to make fierce the FZ, although it is only a Photoshoped picture.

The current FZ1 has already having this problem. Want to go fast it can, but less the uber power of a sport breed. Want to ride real comfy, the half pail sh!t bloom stick bar and height can't let you seat nicely in a comfy touring posture. Want to 'pee chia' your arms postured like chicken wings and tight wrist turning on the throttle.

Two critical factors which seems always haunting each another. Look versus user friendly... to have killer look, rider need to accomodate the riding posture, meaning back breaking experience if to go long distance but this give the sharp handling and look.

To ride comfortably, the killer look and sharp handling factors will be lessen.

Difficult to find a bike each can let riders to have the best of both. :sian:

Give me a cross plane 09 R1 engine (no detune pls), toughened frame work (if not the raw force may crack the frame in no time), better riding posture and less vibration and i am content.... surely there is a price to pay la... by then i maybe retire from the Yammy scene liao... maybe my daughter can benefit from it.
