can any FZ1-S owners share with me a pic on how to fix the main stand stopper for Leo Vince pipes ?

 

Mine is the Factory Evo II and my main stand stopper just arrived yst, but no instruction manual on how to fix the main stand stopper bracket.... now mhy main stand still in my room argh ~!

Hi Bros and maybe there are some sis hiding here, i jus went over to MW (lavendar) to buy my HJC FG15 FF helmet. got it at $230. was asking about the price for tank bra. and got a shocking news...

 

the sales person, Nick, was telling me if i wan the tank bra have to place order. reason, now they don really get in stock for FZ tank bras and FZ is goin to discontinue. in previous replies from some bros saying FZ6 is goin to discontinue rite? Nick told me even FZ1 is also goin to discontinue alreadY! Diversion is coming up with 1000cc too! OMG!!! are we goin to disband? are we not goin to have new brothers or sisters?!

Agree, its Diversion but rename as FZ6R... no where it resemble the mighty FZ6 lor.

Hi bro,if you're not very proficient with tools like a chisel and hammer I would suggest to find a mechanic who will do the job(..and I don't know one but I did try looking:faint:) If you are proficient with these tools, chisel it (long chisel/screwdriver) but BEWARE of the O2 sensor that is about 2cm-4cm at the back of the cat:dot:.(that's for the FZ1S but not sure about the FZ6)

a quick check on jp site... it is not just fz6... yamaha jp aren't selling any bikes with cc from 400-1000 except for a scooter.

 

however, I can still see good a line up of bikes in yamaha au...including fz6s and tdm900.

 

is this cost cutting strategy world wide or localised?

 

If it is localised, we may still be able to get fz6 from the parallel importers.

HUH even diversion coming up with 1000cc? Seriously they planning a new revolution... the Fazer "dynasty" coming to an end. Fazer will be another legend in many bikers mind.

thanks for all the write ups + nice picture!

 

two of my fz6 bros jus checked and informed and found out that the cat for fz6 is not that easy to be taken out as compared to fz1... the exhaust pipe system for fz6 is sort of like straight thru out, hence the cat is easily be able to take out with jus come knocks...

for fz6, we had to cut the pipe apart to take the cat out and weld it back... for fz6, there is a total of 3 cats... 2 small cat at the bottom of the exhaust which is near the rider's foot rest... last 1 big one near the rear shock area there...

on how to take them out? it's not our capability to DIY already... monie is needed for professionals assistance... pricing wise, i'll confirm later...

but, there's a possibility to take out the bigger cat near the rear shock free of charge... it is to purchase the leo vince pipe which comes with y-pipe and mid-pipe... this mid-pipe will be able to replace the existing stock pipe with the big cat there...

talk abt the cat.. FZ1 got 2 cats le.. 1 at the mid pipe and the other in the endcan it self.. i took out the mid wan.. and i also to cut and open the endcan.. there got 1 super big cats.. and it makde of..titanium or aluminum (sorry dunno if the spelling is rit anot.. hehe..) and for FZ6.. the pipe got how many cats...

I'm not so sure about this but there are lots of uncanny similarities... at least from the outlook. (especially the exhaust and headlight)

generally the engines does have very similar specs like bore/stroke, compression ratio....etc.....but with a key difference...FZ6S have a significantly higher rev and hp.... The FZ6R 2010 engine performance look somewhat more similar to XJ6 Div.

 

imo The 2 bikes probably have so much similarities other than one is more revy while the other less (probably performance too) that I wonder why yamaha is selling 2 different bikes with so much in common.....

 

imo, Europe will probably continue with its range of 600cc bikes as it is a highly popular entry class bike there.

 

In Japan, they have a somewhat similar bike license system with sg. Entry level is 50-125cc and probably most will stop at medium 399cc (wild guess) like in sg. So, those (japanese) who are going for large bikes will go straight for the 1k cc bikes (wild guess again) and us here in sg are hold back by the expensive road tax and insurance.....

 

So, this is my best guess why Japan removed all its 400-1000cc bikes from its line-up (including cost saving).
