wah. are u serious.? i was told the stock costs ard 200plus. 110bucks is really a big diff. gd news.. :p

I just picked up the Yuasa TTZ14S from Regina. Lead-acid type, you have to activate it by putting the sulfuric acid in. It's made in TW apparently.

It's not like the OEM type, which is factory activated and sealed.

 

$85 at Regina.

Let's assume that the FZ6 battery should be the same or cheaper.

After slapping the electrolyte/acid in and letting it soak for abt 45 mins, the voltage read 12.6V

I attached it to a CTEK Multi XS3600 charger for the night.

Gonna put it into the bike tomorrow fully charged. :D

 

 

 

As for the old flat OEM battery. Well... it's found new use in my room as an LED tester. :D

 

 

$160 from ah boy ? japan or thailand made ?

 

Regina quoted me $135 or $140 for the Japan made Yuasa YTX14S OEM replacement batt for the FZ1.

 

But I still decided to go for the cheaper TW one. To me, a batt is a batt. Both are rated similarly. 12V, 11A.

I don't think "Made in TW" items should be that much inferior to MIJ ones.

 

If it lasts me 1 year vs 1.5yr for the JP one, then so be it. After all, I did pay 40% less.

I been to Yamah show room that day i was at HL, kaoz the belly pan for fz1 .... the price is disgustingly expensive man >.

 

the oem belly pan for fz6 is $620 le lo... i duno abt fz1...

that is why u rarely will see oem stuffs e.g belly pan or full fairings on fazers in SG... if those who have, it means he/she is damm rich... :lol:

Dun scared me leh bro... I bought the OEM batt from AutoMachinery didn't come wit any sulfuric acid along with it leh. I remembered changing my R1 batt also dun have any sulfuric acid to dump into the batt.

 

Hi , for the OEM battery , the batt doesnt come fully charged . U need to charge it fully b4 using it or the batt wun last long. I was enlighten by a mech from yamaha on tis issue n so far my batt has finally lasted over a yr.

Yeah. Even the lead acid batt I got. After letting it soak, I attached it to a batt tender/charger overnight. Then slotted it into the bike. Hope it works.

hmmm how do u ensure it it charged before using?

like wad DeusExMachina did by using the ctek charger to charge 1st?

i heard that oem brake pads is more friendly towards the blade... wonder how true is it... EBC or other aftermarket once could be more tough in their compound and hence it may damage the blade?
