Anyone knows how to remove the 2 plastics indicated with the red arrow ?

The one on the frame you will need to remove that 2 screws (or push-on plug) becareful, these plugs are soft esp on the locking end. The mech will try to use a small very flat head screwdriver to ply it out... It can be reuse unless broken. Once screws are out... the painful part will be in, the plying, pulling of that frame guard piece, it is 'double sided' taped... very strong. Worn break the piece unless careless.

The tank piece nvr try before, i guessed it is taped or glued.

Everything just do with care and slowly. All should be easy.

Take care. ;)

2007 S1? do check the manufacturing date.. I tot 06 onwards was already S2..

there are a lot of improvements between the 05 S1 and the 09 S2. IMO, get the S2.

err..but y u already talking abt re-sale ar? another rich man change bike every year?

no man, shops are still selling the pre S2 models in shops now. they are not used but old stock and they are registered recently thus the "09 model" tag that goes with them. I used to ride a K9 zook that was registered in 08 july. i think the pre S2 models are quite a steal for the price, besides, they come with only 1 single cat converter, the S2 has 3 :sian:

pichudot: sorry, care to share more on what really happened with your tyre? cos i'm using L-shape valves for my bike...thanks.

Ned,

If I am not wrong,it's the rubber seal of those $5-10 L-shape valve that give way. It happened to Jason aka JKfazer before.

mr james,

mati lah! mine costed $10 each=i got the cheapo version...didn't know the difference. just asked shop to change to L-shape valves when i bought new tyres :cheeky:

No mati la,U changing tires soon? Then can change the valves too. If nt,just get those simi port brand of L valves. I kw racewerks selling them at S$40 cash & carry, with installation should be S$55.

yes bro, it is the cheapo L-shape valve...

but it's not me la... it's my frn's S4 bike...

a S$4 worth of L-shape tire valve made his day bad and spend more than that to repair...

it happens just when we got into NSHW from link 1, and we spend a few hours to fix that before moving off to KL...

luckily it's not raining! :D

but do advise ur friends who r thinking abt FZ6..some shops are trying to push old stock but brand new S1 as the 2009 model.

how can S1 considered as 2009 model? S1 is '04-'06 wad... S2 is '07-'09... :faint:

some shops r plainly there trying to cheat ppl? o_O

there's no S1 being manufactured in 2008 wad... those are considered old stock that when S2 are out, they are unable to sell off their existing S1 stock...

maybe i would suggest if u wanna clarify this, go to HL for clarification... or u could googled urself bro...

Good stuffs comes at a price....

for me the $5 L shape valve adapter is good enough. no need go through the hassle of removing the tire just to install it or have to wait for next tires replacement in order to install it. No need to worry about the thing fly off causing deflations.no need to think of taking it out when letting go the bike.and lastly it is 10times cheaper than "good stuff".:shy:

Hi bro, my sentiment of the angle valve fitment. Just to share & learn.

User will need to put into the consideration that during your hi speed travel, your wheel will spin fast, the anything attach to the solid rim which is soft or weak with unbalance weight distribution, additional load during the centrifugal force will cause breaking force to these weaker links. Hence, if you get those that is not able withstand that spinnig force will break. If you play Radio Control buggy or truggy (not those play by my son but really fast and powerful RC) You can see the rubber wheel deforms and become pan cake look when the car spin fast. All force make the soft compound expand outwards.

Click the link and you will see.

You may say then how come our original needle valve body won't break.

1st, it is light and the valve cap is light too, which Y i did not put my favourite Monopoly dies cap onto,

2nd it is pointing straight inwards unlike the angle valve with side outward design. You can the those pic attached, the base body is solid thick piece of material. The slim valve channel got thick metal wall to take on the punishments from the non stop spinning wheel.

So best is to get those well reputated brands that provides you solid material than cheaper options which looks the same but material is of poorer quality. Maybe cheaper option have, but unless it is testifed. Those oversea brands is expensive.

Take cooking and engine oils for example. They are oils, but both have diff qualities and ingredients. You can smell peanut in no time if that cooking oil disintegrate in your engine and causes damages to the rings and parts.

Some other source of angle valve inputs.

BMW Forum

Cheers. :p

Oh, to add-on, the installer need to know their product well and it's reaction when you are going at hi speed. Go faster, material take on more force.

No worry la. Do it slowly, dun force things that cannot be removed or you think it may break. 1st part out, last part in. If still no confident, take pic before removal lor. Sure won't wrong. Last resort, pay and get done.

Ok. I attach the link for the parts manual, hope it is useful for your usage..

for your information, doesnt mean you change already means can use forever. It is best to change the valve every alternate tyre change, even if you are using the better quality stuff.

good grief, letting go the bike you also removed the air valve..:faint:
