This brings to mind 2 questions:

1. How effective are the Buell's ZTL brakes compared to standard radial floating disc brakes?

2. Is the added unsprung weight worth the supposedly better braking feel/power (still unproven)?

I guess it should be more responsive. As it is set nearer to the external rim. Of cos, the masterpump also plays a part to hold the system together effectively. It is a 6-piston caliper. I think you can refer to the Buell webby here.

wud prefer to install both head lights H4 bulbs. still me not go at rewiring it. wad do ys meant nid to mod to accomodate da H4 bulb at da H7 bulb slot?

Bro, what some people did is to turn on the H7 permanently... It will cause additional drain on the battery though...

Having hardware mounted at the outer radius of the wheel could increase rotational inertia. And when that happens, the wheel acts as one giant gyroscope, resisting turn in, and also trying to stand the bike up in corners.

That's the thing that I'm skeptical about.

Bro, i notice that u hav a steering damper on ur fz6, wats the brand and does it block a tank bag?

:)

Posted

from the front u also can see? looks like u got x-ray eyes! :faint:

anyway, yes i got...

for fz6, our handle bar r higher than usual/others...

hence our steering damper are needed to be higher than others...

a small sufficient length of spacer is needed...

for me, kenji used a 1cm golden spacer...

it fit v nicely since then till now with no problems surfacing...

previously one of his mechanic used a 1 inch spacer...

it was damm F...

the long screw that hold the damper bracket and the tank bracket broke 3 times!

first is at BKE when i'm going in JB to pump, second is on my malacca trip, third is at my phuket trip! o_O

Bulletin!! Yamaha europe gonna release the 2010 FZ8 soon. Stay tune below website..

http://www.yamaha-motor-europe.com/fz8/

Yamaha has unveiled this first official picture of the new FZ8 middleweight naked – but nothing else.

There’s no information or pictures beyond this headlight shot – Yamaha UK wasn’t even aware of the picture’s release!

It is believed the FZ8 will replace Yamaha’s current FZ6 models as a sporty middleweight naked, leaving the XJ6, XJ6 Diversion and the new-for-2010 XJ6 Diversion F to cater for the novice and all-rounder markets.

It’s main rivals will be the BMW F800R, Honda Hornet 600, Triumph Street Triple R and the Aprilia Shiver 750.

The engine is believed to be unique to the FZ8, but draws on the design of Yamaha’s current supersport engines, and tuned to suit the naked bike application.

Little is known about the level of chassis equipment – expect mid-level componentry better than the basic XJ6 range, but not quite as high quality as the race-spec kit on the 2010 R6.

Wah canot see from the front leh.

i saw it from e older pages in this thread.

Our fz tend to vibrate at the handle, sure put alot of stress on the long screw.

Wats the brand of it? from that angle, looks like a hyperpro to me.

Any problem fitting a tank bag?

yes, we tend to vibrate a bit more over certain speed...

thou i have longer bar end but it seems the stress is too much to take for the long screw, hence it broke several times...

problem is lies at the incorrect installation position of the damper + the use of a long screw...

now problem is solved by putting it on the correct position with shorter spacer and short screw... :)

yes, it is hyperpro...

no problems with tank bag... it is jus nice... :)

Damper is a goody must have if can. Price for full set is expensive. :faint: It will at least prevent your gut from skrinking when unexpected E-brake is applied.

hmmm...

bro, u did this bypass is it when normal headlights on, the lower beam filament of H4 will on + H7 or the higher beam filament of H4 + H7?

if it's higher one, then it's like on-ing high beam like that liao...

the correct bypassing method is the latter i'm referring...

i'm not sure on what is yours... :)

anyway, some cars' headlights r like alws on high beam like that...

last night when i go home, got one stupid car headlight is like on-ing high beam like that...

keep on blinding me... kns... o_O

wait till i fix my HIDs...

let put it this way, if you invest in damper, you literally invest in not getting into a tank slapper...if you kena 1 tank slapper, chances of you recovering from it without a damper is slim and the damage to your bike is definitely more than the cost of a full set damper. period!

personal experience:

was riding around 250kmh coming back to singapore on northsouth highway, just after machap, i didnt notice those small humps on the road and on one of it, me and my bike actually lift off the ground, landed just about a 20cm from the metal barriers..at that time, my thoughts was lucky i had me damper else i am sure i wont be able to control my bike movement after the lift off. After that the rest of the journey, i was riding like 120 kmh with shaky hands and jittery legs
