Just finished installing my FCE onto my bike under my block and went for a quicky to East coast beach.

I fully recommend it to those FZ1 riders who feel their bike is jerky when changing gears..bike is as smooth as silk now with additional juicy fat torque in the low to mid RPM range,wooohoooo

Tks to the Bro who sold the FCE 2 me for 100 bucks,CHEERS!!

 

 

how consider as jerky during shifting of gears ? From what i understand the jerkyness comes from the controlling of clutch and throttle coordination and also the rpm that you change gear at. or am i having the wrong concept ???

I think I know what you are trying to say,the FCE reduces the sudden surge of cut/supply of power.Just compare the FZ1 '06 and my '07 model to a carb bike and you will instantly feel the difference.Hope this helps:)

Will the FCE help for a 09 model like mine.

 

Did you install any PCIII after you changed to ARROW, any mob done to compliment the slip-on.

Hi not sure about the '09 model as mine is '07 bro.IMO a PCIII is not required if only a slip on is added but a PCIII will definately smoothen out the bike as factory setting is quite lean.Airbox mod,cat removal and cable re-route will definately help to enhance the performance of the slip on but I would recommend a PCIII with a custom map if you want to feel the full effect as all FZ1 are not exactly the same.

Recommendation based on my opinions and comments from other fzian who own :

1) Leo Vince (Freaking loud without DB-killer)

2) Araka Carbon Slipon (Best outlook on a Naked FZ1, and bassy. The exhaust only gets real loud in mid range.)

3) Arrow CF slipon (Easily removeable muffler, reasonable exhaust sound, and it's on my bike and I'm loving it)

4) Remus Hexacone (Loud and hollow, looks like icecream cone)

There are many more choices, like scorpion, yoshi, giannelli, micron, gytr, etc..

Pricing wise, maybe u can look at Advertisers' Board under Unique motor for reference.

 

Btw, are u riding a 09 or 10 FZ1N ABS model?

With a Power commander and proper tuning,the consumption is almost the same as stock with more power and better throttle response from my experience(results vary).You can save a bit if you can DIY too.

anyone have any problem kicking from 1st gear to 2nd gear? will the gear get stuck at the neutral after 1 kick? and will your bike die without jerking or any sound when try to move off from 2nd gear? it will just die without jerking??

urs is an 07? i read abt the ivan fce, was quite interested in this product but dunno where to get it from. n there's another sub-throttle plates to enhance as well... base on wat i know, the 06 have the abrupt power output n sudden fuel cut but since 07 onwards, the problem is not as bad as compared to the 06. comments?

mayb u wanna adjust your clutch free play? once i had the freeplay too near, the changing of gears is very hard till i adjust abit further n then its normal. how come u r moving off in gear 2? i haven't tried that so i dunno. as for the jerking, can elaborate?

I think Ivan was right in saying the problem will exist no matter which year('06-'08) FZ1 it was,in my case '07.My bike definately has an adrupt power cut/supply when twisting open/close(especially in mid corners), the throttle and this was cured the moment I installed my FCE.I'm very sure other fazer owners who have push the limits of their bike and installed the FCE would agree:) It's basically up to the preference of each individual owner:angel:

k on the topic of probs wit bikes, im experiencing slight prob too.. with starting the bike..

 

 

'07 Fz1s

description:

standard procedure insert key on ignition,

on mainstand, side stand up

press ignition button..

nothing happens, the yellow light "engine trouble" according to manual lights up,

clutch in, kick 1st gear press ignition nothing happens

 

turn off key, on again and can start...

 

this happens quite a number of times....

 

any diagnosis?

no lah as in when you accidentally release too much of clutch and the bike died it will usually have a jerk before dying off..
